6  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: 75% wool, 25% acrylic... felting? on: January 03, 2007 06:07:09 AM
I'm thinking she means 75% wool, 20% acrylic, 5% polyester
oops! yes, this is right. my fingers get ahead of me sometimes.

thanks for the input... i tried it out and i found did shrink more one way than the other. it doesn't really look felted but i can tell the stitches are much tighter together and it's a lot softer.
7  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / 75% wool, 25% acrylic... felting? on: January 02, 2007 07:46:13 AM
i'm just wondering what my attempts at felting yarn (in a washing machine) that is 75% wool, 20% acrylic and 5% polyester will turn out.

it's a really soft wool but it's a blend and it has gold threads running through it. i may do a test with a small knit swatch but i'm just wondering for future machine washing felting endeavors if i should always get 100% wool.
