11  CLOTHING / Clothing for Curvaceous Craftsters: Discussion and Questions / Re: Help with Shirt Recons on: September 04, 2010 11:57:42 AM
I found it easier to wear tank tops under my shirts and leave the top or all  buttons open, as if the shirt was a lightweight jacket.  You can add panels but that involves considerable cutting and measuring, not easy if you aren't comfortable sewing.

You can nudge the hourglass shape a bit by taking in an inch or less/more from below the bust  down to the natural waist.  I use a large plate and trace a curved line with the largest part of the curve placed where the natural waist falls.

Always pin or baste first, and adjust until you are happy before sewing the final seam.  I press the curve to one side.  If it is too bulky you can cut tiny v's into it and then press.

I like VOGUE Easy Options -- they can be altered without much trouble.

WOW!  Love the rope idea--I have a base that is badly tarnished and that would work better than paint.  May I ask how you attached the new panels to the shade frame?

The flatter flowers press better than the thick ones like sunflowers.  You might try next time using silica (you can find it in craft stores) to dry out the sunflower.
