i just looked through the instructions and read the discription, those seem like a really wonderful way to practice various techniques and get something pretty out of it, without burning yourself out on a big project, i may make some of those with mothballs inside them to keep the moths out of my spinning wool, without it being obvious ((aside from the icky smell of course)) that there are even moth balls in my stash! would probably make some pretty smelling ones too, just to counteract the mothball smell....AH! the ideas flow!
yeah, regardless of who im sharing a locker with, we only have one top shelf, with no divider, so im going to get one of those photo boxes and decorate it with like, caution tape or something, and keep all of my school survival that i dont want people messing with stuff in...girly necesities, a few spare bucks in case of a packed lunch death ((sometimes im truely shocked by the things my lunch does between being packed at 7 am and lunch at noon...it can be quite atrocious)) granola bars for the fated mid morning coffee-caffine crash...the stuff people would be likely to snag and you dont want them to.
yesterday i got my order from them, i ordered the sock roving, its very nice feeling, cant wait to get started with it ((want to finish up what im spinning right now though)) and she also threw in there about 4 ounces of some of her handdyed superwash, in GORGEOUS autumn-y colors, gold and reds and oranges with some purples//blues//greens in it, going to spin it the same weight as the white im spinning now, dye the white either burgundy or chocolate and make a hat i think...dont want to run out of yarn for the project, but also dont want to use it all on the project, its a gift ((my stepmom saw it and since she and my dad bought me the wool was like, ooh! i love those, will you make me a hat out of it!...so i kinda felt i should say yes, since they payed for it, and my dad cant wear regular wool, he gets a goofy reaction, so he thinks the process is cool, but isnt so into the finished products)) cause its just SO gorgeous. i carded it all up last night so that as soon as im done spinning and plying the white i can get to the prettyness!
if you still need a spinning mentor ((spindling i assume)) or a knitting mentor i could do either one, i just need to sign up to send more stuff out like i need another hole in my head...so i wouldnt want to send out at all...but i would LOVE to mentor for this. knitting most preferably, but i could do spinning too
i start next tuesday, got my schedule and all...got all the classes i want, but im a transfere student so not used to the school and its differences from my old school...i have to share a locker! and i dont even know my locker mates name much less their gender ((oh god, how do i share a locker with a guy and keep tampons in my locker for emergencies???))
deb--as long as you let us know whats going on, and you send by the 8th, it will not reflect negatively in your feedback, just dont push it till the last minute, y'know?
there is a one week grace period before we give temp negative, two weeks to send WITH a temporary negative, if you havent sent out after two weeks past sendouts ((saturday the 15th)) then you will get a negative feedback for the swap and need to rectify it somehow.
