They were so white and boring but I think I love them now!

And the back:

If you're thinking, these looked familiar...that's because I was going to leave them as black and white and posted them up but I got the colour bug and fell in love with the results. I hope you do too

5  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Vintage Oroton glomesh 1 UP mushroom bag on: July 17, 2009 01:52:49 AM
Dear You,

There's boot sale near my house that i never explore because i honestly didn't think I'd find anything. On ym first trip there I spotted a lovely locket pin and was in negotiations. when i mentioned i was interested in the metal link vintage oroton bag the prices went down down down.

Now the pin was lovely but the bag smelt of old lady.

I aired it out and decided to nerd it up a little, hence the Super mario reference. Now it's cute and I love it! I hope the nerd in you likes it too!

9  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Pancakes and stewed apples! on: April 19, 2009 01:11:43 AM

For breakfast, my J and I made pancakes and stewed apples. They were delicious and the healthy apples covered up the unhealhty pancakes very nicely  Grin

Basic Pancake recipe
Ingredients
1 cup self raising flour
1 cup milk
1 egg
1 tsp maple syrup
butter as required

Method
1. sift self raising flour into a bowl
2. make a well in the middle and pour in the egg, milk and maple syrup
3. mix untill compined and no lumps remain
4. heat you frying pan on medium heat and put some butter into it until a layer coats the bottom
5. pour in your batter. Remember the mix will spread so always pour small than you want your pancake to be
6. when bubbles form through the pancake flip it over. Give it 30 seconds and you should be done!

Tip: If you don't know if it's time to flip yet, lift up a corner and see if you catch a glimpse of that delicious golden brown colour!

Note: Don't forget to re-butter your frying pan occasionally or they'll start to stick

Stewed Apples

Ingredients
1/4 cup water
1 tbsp butter(oops i forgot about that)
2 apples
1 tsp sugar (Optional)

Method
1. peel, core and slice apples
2. put in a fry pan with the water
Tip: To make washing up easier, just wait till you've made your pancake stack and put these in the same pan
3. stir occasionally but not to the extent that your apples start breaking apart
4. when the water has pretty much evaporated, add the butter
5. taste your apples!.

Note: If you have a sweet tooth add some sugar and let it dissolve and melt with the heat.
If you want a more caramelised bitterness leave it on the heat untill apples are a little brown and crispy around the edges.

AND TADA!
10  COOKING / Dessert / Elmo cupcakes and a slice of rainbow jelly on: March 29, 2009 03:08:41 AM
It was my almost nephew's 1st birthday and he is mad for elmo so i made him an elmo posse.

And for his uncle's birthday i created a rainbow jelly using lots of jelly and a silicone bunt cake pan. I managed to flip it over and it looked amazing. I wish i had taken proper photos. He's a pic of a slice of jelly someone took before eating it
