142  U.K. AND IRELAND / SCOTLAND / SNB Edinburgh Anyone???? on: September 24, 2004 06:58:50 AM
OK i am desperate to get a Stitch n Bitch Group going in Edinburgh!!!! So i am turning to my fellow crafters here to find out if anyone would be interested, there are tons of coffee houses around the city and I think it would be a great time to hang out and knit with other like minded, crafty types. My only other dilema is getting the word out to people and finding people who are interested, So if you are interested and or you know people that would be please , please let me know. And any feedback and ideas are much appreciated ,You ALL ROCK!!!! Grin
143  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: The BIG wool debate...formerly known as the purple purse post. on: September 21, 2004 12:24:34 AM
As many have said thanks for putting up so many informative posts, i just thought i would add my little thought to this, I know that many people care about the enviorment and the impact we have on it myself included and we would all love to strive for a cruelty free and fair world ( that being said i myself am not rich and as a mother of 2 wish i could buy everything fairtrade and cruelty free but its not always an option) But what i can do is be informed and try and make the best decisions i can. There are many fairtrade shops and cruelty free options one of them being hemp yarn, as i believe was mentioned earlier http://www.houseofhemp.co.uk/acatalog/Expressions_.html
that link is an example. And i hope that link is helpful( but there may be some adverse affects from using that as well, i am not sure) Anyway i really am glad for all the wonderful discussion on this post you all rock!!!!
Oh yes and last but not least in a perfect world my pc would be running off of solor energy and i would be livivng in an eco house and growing all my own food... oh one can dream and someday i may get there but until then i will try and be informed and make the best decisions i can for this world and for my family. Thanks for such a great Topic!!!!!!!!! Wink
