almost done with my package and my partner is either going to really like what i give her or think i'm completely insane.
or maybe just that i'm rather dumb
ack! i've got the worries.
Cool! I bet it's the former and not the latter... I've been worried you're gonna think I'm nuts myself.
It also makes me worried because I'm definitely not finished with my package, and here you are all ready and everything! I'll be better after Thursday - I have a show I'm involved with that night, and from tonight until Thursday I have to commit myself to that when I'd rather be swap crafting. And I soooo wanted to send out early, but it looks like I'll be sending out right on time.
Wow, I'm getting a guilt complex about sending it out on time instead of sending it out early, is that normal too? At least we live in the same town, so that's a relief. Whew!
Hear, hear! Super thanks to Stifflersmom and Animegirlie. I'm glad I chose y'all to be my first, because I can tell it's going to be a really friggin' good one! Thanks for being my swapping deflowering organizers!
Mainly, yes. He's done some X-men stuff recently, and he did some Fantastic Four, and "The Nail" storyline for DC, I believe. But his Excalibur stuff is amazing, in my opinion. Best Kitty and Kurt artist there is. Although, I would love to see Mike Allred tackle them, that'd be nice.
Oooh, I really hope there is a second round to this!
stifflersmoml and redheadskydiver - I'm glad you enjoyed my work. Some of it is very old though, and I need to do much updating, but thank you very much nonetheless
kitkabbit - Thanks for checking out my site! I never finished the 24 hour comic, because I'm lame. The fourth page of it is my personal favorite. As for the jewelry bit - I was the designer for a label that sold/sells to Nordstrom's and other places - but they were really mean, very not nice people - so I quit. So, I designed the stuff, and made the "showroom samples" and did all the creative work, but my name was never attached to anything, and of course I made crap money for it. No need to be jealous, because although it was neat to see stuff I designed and created in a large market and in magazines, I was treated and paid like absolute crap, and I wish that on no creative, talented people. You've accomplished much more than I have with my jewelry all on my own - I haven't sold a single thing to anyone or any place. When it's not my job, I basically make stuff for myself, or for friends, and that's it.
animegirlie - Thanks! Yeah, that's the Ganesh mural outside of what used to be the Nomadic Notions on the Drag. I think they're currently turning it into yet another pizza place, and the Drag is spiralling further into crappy dullness. I worked at that Nomadic Notions for the first 2 years I lived in Austin. That's where I learned most of my jewelry skills, and I taught some classes. I miss it sometimes Stupid pizza place....But at least the mural is still there for now.
Yay for getting partners tomorrow as opposed to Saturday! Then this weekend can be filled with shopping and or crafting goodness from the get go!
I haven't mentioned what I do yet, so I guess I'll mention it here. I do lots and lots of crafty things. My main specialty is jewelry, I would say. Really my main, main specialty is art/illustration since that's what I do for a living, and that's what I went to school for and such. So, I really enjoy applying those skills to crafty goodness and seeing what happens (decoupage, magnets, shrinky dinks, frames, boxes, planters, stationery and on and on) . I also make stuffies and softies and dolls.
I don't knit - I purl, but I am sooo not a purling supa-star at all. I don't really crochet either - I know how to basically, for a few jewelry purposes, but yeah, not a crochet-er.
Uh, I guess I'll post my art website here, if that's ok. I know it's not all crafts, but it'll probably help me introduce myself and my sense of humor/style/whatever to everyone. Just keep in mind it's more of a business type thing than what I would usually share on craftster. So here it is http://www.ayahdesign.com
Welcome new color craftalongers - eager to see your submissions!
AliBeachGrl did you ever glitter up your mirror? I think that it would be cute with glitter, but then again it's cute already
kalona - what a lovely doll - I'm excited to see it finished. And as for my earrings, they're not heavy. They're a bit heavier than what I usually wear, but lately that's been nothing. I wore them to dinner last night. My boyfriend said they were "very lemon-limey."
Well, Miss_Vicki, if there isn't a round 2, perhaps we'll just have to arrange our own Bamf Doll swap. Or how about a craftster Nightcrawler swap? I'd be all over that. Glad to see more people appreciatin' old school Kurt.
Oh and when Alan Davis draws him - it's simply the best.
