Love this!  Great job.  I've been looking at something like this for my girls' room and never thought to make them.  Thanks for the inspiration.

Thanks for the replies.  Here is the result.  I made the tote bag the second way and made it huge.

8  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Discussion and Questions / Tote Bag Question - Updated with new links in 4th post on: September 08, 2007 03:27:51 PM
I'm pretty new to sewing, so please forgive this question if it sounds stupid.  What is the difference in making a tote bag this way http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=52143.0 and this way http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=29876.0.  The first takes five pieces to construct the body of the tote (not including the lining).  The second looks like one piece of fabric folded at the bottom and the sides sewn up.  (I guess the tote could be made similar to the Jordy where there are two pieces for each side of the bag too.)  Is there a difference in the functionality of the tote or is it just the shape and amount of time it takes to sew?

Thanks.
Mary Jane
