21  Re: Vegetarian/vegan pride swap GALLERY in The Swap Gallery by Trish Fantastic on: January 22, 2011 12:04:52 PM
So. I didn't expect my stuff until tomorrow but the tracking website had it all wrong! Prepare to be amazed! applesandpumpkins was a fabulous swap partner and the perfect first partner. I am definitely addicted now. Anyhow, check out the goodies!

Here is everything together, not including the card or recipes, which look delicious by the way!

A tofu pin cushion, which now resides next to my sewing machines (safe out of reach from my two pups that think it looks as delicious as the real thing!)
An incredible fox scarf (I LOVE foxes, and as I told applesandpumpkins was blessed with seeing one in my backyard several weeks back and I just about died as I live in a city.) It is made with vegan yarn and as a fellow crocheter I am very impressed with her skills. I am also so in love with the color pallete as most of the animal scarves I have seen like this are just too kid like for my personal tastes but this one is absolutely perfect and I refuse to take it off even though I am starting to overheat! Tongue
And lastly, but certainly not least, the incredible cross stitch that will be my first hoop on my hoopla wall that I am already obsessed with. She said she was trying something new but her stitches look so neat that I almost can't believe it!

And because I think these two definitely need a closer look!

and this...

Aren't the little feet just so cute?! I have to say, I am in no means a squeeler, but that is the only way I can describe the noise I made when I saw this. Smiley

THANK YOU SOOO MUCH!

22  Flying Cherry Plush! in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by Trish Fantastic on: October 09, 2010 12:44:50 PM
So, a friend of mine is a really great artist, Yosiell Lorenzo of Project Detonate. He paints these wonderful characters that I have always thought would look great in plush. I finally convinced him to get one of the characters printed out at Spoonflower and he let me put them together! I am really excited about it, and hope to work with him more in the future.

Isn't it just the cutest little cherry!?!

23  Pumpkin Muffins in Vegetarian / Vegan by Trish Fantastic on: September 28, 2010 07:39:04 PM
To roll in the new season I worked up a recipe for some wonderfully moist pumpkin muffins/bread. Mmmmm.

Basically all of the pumpkin bread recipes I have tried since being a vegan have been too dry or borderline pumpkin pie so I decided to try my hand at my own recipe and it came out great!

First things first. You want to preheat your oven to 350 degrees F.

Grease your pans. I used 2 large muffin pans but you could use whatever pans your heart desires as long as you change the time necessary for baking.

Dry Ingredients:

3 1/2 cups all purpose flour.

2 1/2 cups granulated sugar.

1 teaspoon baking soda.

1 teaspoon cinnamon.

1/2 teaspoon nutmeg.

1/2 teaspoon allspice.

1/2 teaspoon cloves.

1/2 teaspoon ginger.

1/4 teaspoon salt.

Wet Ingredients:

1 15oz can pumpkin puree.

1 cup vegetable oil.

egg substitute for 4 eggs. (I use Ener-G Foods Egg Replacer)

2/3 cup water.

Combine all of your dry ingredients in a large bowl in the order given.

Next combine all of your wet ingredients in a separate bowl. (If you are using Ener-G Egg Replacer make sure you mix according to the instructions on the box before adding to your wet ingredients.)

Slowly pour your wet ingredients into your dry bowl and mix well. I mixed by hand and this was fine.

Next pour your muffin mix into the pre-greased pans.

Bake until you can insert a toothpick or skewer into the center of the bread and bring it out clean. Approximately 35 minutes for muffins and 45 minutes for 2 95 pans. (please note that these times are based on my personal convection oven and you should monitor your bread closely the first time you make it to ensure success with your personal oven.)

Make sure you let your delicious muffins cool before you pop one in your mouth and burn yourself. ENJOY!

24  What should I do with this? Cassette Tape Embroidery in Needlework: Completed Projects by Trish Fantastic on: September 08, 2010 01:07:42 PM

I embroidered this up on a whim, basically just because I love old cassette tapes. But now I have no idea what to do with it. It looks kinda boring in a frame or hoop and I don't know if I need another zipper pouch. Help me out please?!

I just finished charting this out and put a pdf file on my blog if anyone wants it.

26  Zombie portraits! in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by Trish Fantastic on: August 30, 2010 05:44:33 PM
Last year I did a series of zombie portraits of my husband and three of our friends. They are all done in pastels and charcoal on charcoal paper that is about 22x30. This is my favorite of the four, but if you want to see the other three they are all up on my blog. I hope you like it as much as I do!

(The background is all very velvety smooth in appearance, the lighting is just making it look weird.)

27  Embroidery Patterns- Maneko Neki, Partners in Crime in Needlework: Discussion and Questions by Trish Fantastic on: August 16, 2010 05:57:12 PM
I have been working on these patterns all day today and although I haven't yet started to stitch them up I thought it is possible that someone else might enjoy them as well. All I ask is that you post your progress so I can see what you do! Full size embroidery patterns are available for free on my blog (the link is in my signature!)

28  Push Pins and Magnets (IMAGE HEAVY!!!) in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by Trish Fantastic on: July 28, 2008 07:22:26 PM
I'm not quite sure if this is the right place for these but I think it might be. I finally got to try some fabric (and not fabric too) button push pins and magnets. They aren't anything new or special but I like the way they turned out just the same. All of the ones on paper are push pins and the ones that aren't are magnets. I especially love the wood grain ones. For some reason wood grain stuff always sucks me in.

29  knit bangles in Knitting: Completed Projects by Trish Fantastic on: July 28, 2008 07:07:52 PM
I was inspired to do these awhile ago when I started seeing them in stores for a lot of money and I know other people have made them too but none the less here are my versions of the knit bangles. The first one is made of cotton with one cable around it and the other is made of acrylic yarn. I made them awhile back but I am just now getting around to posting projects I meant to post weeks ago.

30  super mario shoes in Shoes: Completed Projects by Trish Fantastic on: July 28, 2008 06:59:45 PM
I have done these shoes in acrylic paint before, and strangely enough I see that somehow someone actually bumped up that post today to the front page. How weird! Anyhow, this time I did them with permanent fabric ink and I am a lot happier with the way they came out. I finished these awhile ago but I am probably the worst procrastinator when it comes to posting my projects.
