if your not sure the dressing will taste good, just put like a dime size of it on the edge of your plate with your rice and take a spoonfull of rice, dip it in the dressing and try it. if it's good, then put more dressing on it, but if it doesnt tase good then dont dip it in the dressing anymore.

and for your question about other rice recipes, well what i do is just experiment. like use spices such as cayane peppers and butter and make a sauce out of it. or just take spices and make up some recipes for yourself.
