So I got a hefty little box of goodies from mcook today!!  Here's a pic of the whole loot:


I wish I could individually showcase each wonderful item, but I have painfully slow dial up service, and that would take me all night long!  I did give a gratuitous close up of the awesome yarn she sent!  i love everything girl!  Here's the list:



LOCAL:  This is some DIVINE soap handmade by mcook!   It is chocolate soap and it smells good enough to eat!

"C" A handmade set of blank notecards with vintage knitting shots on them!  Love em!!

BLUE: This is super soft handspun yarn in a Bluegrass Colorway.  I wish you all could snuggle it, it is sooooo soft!

UNUSUAL A vintage knitting booklet!

SQUISHY: A cloth covered ice pack!  Love it!  It will come in handy with all the kiddos around here getting bruised and scraped up!

FLEXIBLE: Cute hairties for my daughter!

SENDERS CHOICE: two books on learning crochet ( since I seriously need a lesson!!  good sluething mcook!!) and a lovely stitchmarker altoid tin!

[Crazy waves]

So a little late, but still Friday!  Here's my contribution:

Crazy waves, 60 yards, thread plied, spun from a batt made from all the gunk on my licker in drum of my drum carder:



And Sunset:  100 yards two ply merino/cormo 12 wpi

So, I couldn't wait to try some of the fiber dragonflyducky sent...so I spun up the small superwash bump!.  I plied it with some handyed cormo I had on hand...here's a pic:

Wow! I got spoiled by Dragonflyducky!!  Heres a pic of the loot!



She sent a lovely braid of fiber "Zinnias" I love the color  combo!
Plus a small little bump of some superwash in a great colorway...and a handyed silk hankie...and some angora fluff from her bunny "Chewbacca"!!

Plus two cute cards!

spun from some rolags from nicolassa... wool, buffalo, camel, glitz

100 yds, 35gr.  16 wpi  2ply

well I finally got around to spinning up the wonderful rolags nicolassa sent.  I took the darkest ones, and spun this:



Its 14 wpi, 35 grams, 100 + yards.  I will spin the next batch the same wpi and make something wonderful....most likely a scarf of some sort...perhaps the morning surf scarf.

ohh, a fleece washing station...sounds like a great idea!


Well, this thread got my butt in gear to clean up my crafting space!  So here are some pictures to share!



A big table, with my carder and picker ( both pat green  ), which vies for space with my sewing machine and stuff.  It always a bit of a shuffle, whether I am doing fiber crafts or fabric craft.

I received from the_bees_knees!  A wonderful fiber parcel!



two different handyed organic wool rovings ( I love the colors!!) and two braids of sheep shed mill ends!  I can't wait to experiment with these colors!!  I can't believe this is her first dyeing experience...these roving look so well done!!

well, I finally finished spinning the rest of the beautiful batts frankie sent me:

I plyed with some solar dyed silk top from my stash.

Its about 400 yards, 5 oz, and 12 wpi.  I am planning on making a forest canopy shawl for my mom

I am loving spinning up all this great fiber from this ongoing swap!!

just what i need to lug the kiddos stuff to go swimming this summer! the purple print that the lining is made of is fab!

plus she made me  a matching checkbook cover and change purse!  and passed along an intriguing book to read at the beach!
