1  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / A few life drawings on: July 31, 2007 02:37:38 AM
A few different life drawings. The drawings of the girl without a face are all 30 minute sketches. The seated woman is a +/- 3 hour drawing. And the last 3 drawings of the girl with the stockings and the old man are all 15 minute sketches. I had a lot more 15 minute sketches of the old man but don't have photographs of them. These were my first figure drawing classes and although I could barely keep up, it was so amazing to draw from life.

2  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Cute Creatures Beach Bag on: July 28, 2007 12:12:26 PM
I made this for my partner in the Japanese Street Fashion Swap. It's the first tote I've made. I have left over material and have decided to make one for myself as well and maybe even try to make and sell 2 more. It's got different pictures from either side. The lining is white cotton and there's a pocket on the inside made from the part with the colourful flowers at the bottom of the picture.

3  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Lolita Skirt on: July 28, 2007 12:04:33 PM
I've noticed that some craftsters post projects from the organized swaps in the appropriate board for the item. So I decided to post a skirt I made for Lolitaneko in the Japanese Street Fashion Swap. It was based on THIS skirt. My mom and I made it together and we argued the whole time (she made me rip and resew so many seams  Roll Eyes ) But in the end it turned out pretty well. I did not sew the apron-y part onto the petticoat, so she can make another herself if she wished to and she could change them according to her mood.

4  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Fading Daffodils and Lemon (tempera on paperbag) on: July 05, 2007 09:28:15 AM
It's not much, but I am particularly proud of this painting. I used a paperbag from my lunch the day before. I went with my instincts and just assembled a composition of yellows. The painting is from live observation and the daffodils were already fading so I tried to capture that as well as I could. I derived great enjoyment from painting it and I hope you like it.

5  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Birds on: July 04, 2007 04:53:32 AM
I drew these at the end of March and finally got a chance to take photos of them. They are cards at the moment but I'm thinking of changing them into framed pictures. I drew them from photographs of birds I found on the internet. What do you think?

European Robin

Purple Finch

Spotted Towhee

Red Crossbill (I have no idea why it's called a red crossbill when it's actually yellow  Huh )
6  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Elegant Fabric Gloves tutorial??? on: July 04, 2007 03:16:30 AM
Does anyone know where I can find a tutorial on how to make long elegant gloves? Not knitted, but from fabric. Something like THIS.

thank you.  Grin
7  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / The Means of Transportation Swap on: June 17, 2007 03:49:41 PM
ok ok First thing on the list: Find a better name for the swap. But anyway...

Would anyone be interested to base a swap around our favourite means of transportation? For example, I have memories of traveling in trains and buses as a child. Maybe you're a trainchaser? You love airplanes? You are very environmentaly friendly and love to ride your green bike?? Or better yet, do you have a passion for vintage racing cars? Or you like those Japanese speed trains? Oooh, I know, TRICYCLES!

Anyway, I could go on forever. Is anyone up for it?

PS: my first swap suggestion. :S
8  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / music box / electrical motor on: May 20, 2007 01:28:46 PM
I 've got an idea for a sort of music box. I want a specific song to play, so I'm not sure the usual spool and comb thing will work. I guess maybe I should by a  little motor and attach something to it that can play and loop the song. It's all way too confusing right now.

Are there any electric savvy people that might offer advice? thank you.
9  CITY GUIDES FOR CRAFTSTERS / EUROPE / Sofia, BG on: May 20, 2007 07:13:33 AM
I know this is pretty much useless, but I'm bored so I decided to post.

Anyone from Bulgaria here? Any good fabric stores in Sofia?
10  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Discussion and Questions / Portfolio sites? on: March 30, 2007 01:19:18 PM
I'm thinking about making a portfolio on the internet. What website in your opinion is the best for this purpose? I know that you can make it on flickr and deviant art. Are there any other or better websites? What do you guys use?
