1  A few life drawings in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by dreamergirl on: July 31, 2007 02:37:38 AM
A few different life drawings. The drawings of the girl without a face are all 30 minute sketches. The seated woman is a +/- 3 hour drawing. And the last 3 drawings of the girl with the stockings and the old man are all 15 minute sketches. I had a lot more 15 minute sketches of the old man but don't have photographs of them. These were my first figure drawing classes and although I could barely keep up, it was so amazing to draw from life.

2  Cute Creatures Beach Bag in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by dreamergirl on: July 28, 2007 12:12:26 PM
I made this for my partner in the Japanese Street Fashion Swap. It's the first tote I've made. I have left over material and have decided to make one for myself as well and maybe even try to make and sell 2 more. It's got different pictures from either side. The lining is white cotton and there's a pocket on the inside made from the part with the colourful flowers at the bottom of the picture.

3  Lolita Skirt in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by dreamergirl on: July 28, 2007 12:04:33 PM
I've noticed that some craftsters post projects from the organized swaps in the appropriate board for the item. So I decided to post a skirt I made for Lolitaneko in the Japanese Street Fashion Swap. It was based on THIS skirt. My mom and I made it together and we argued the whole time (she made me rip and resew so many seams  Roll Eyes ) But in the end it turned out pretty well. I did not sew the apron-y part onto the petticoat, so she can make another herself if she wished to and she could change them according to her mood.

Lolitaneko received today and I have pics of what I sent her and I really want to post them already. I'm sooo happy that she finally received. So anyways, here's what I sent to Lolitaneko.

- A Lolita skirt inspired by a skirt from her wist that you can see HERE
- A big tote/beach bag.
- I saw a wallet in a store and thought she would like it.
- RIBBONS!!!  Cheesy
- And a CD with all sorts of Japanese stuff. FRUiTS issues, Manga, Origami schemes, but most importantly... the movie KAMIKAZE GIRLS.  Cheesy

The Lolita skirt:

The Tote/Beach Bag ( it's different from each side):

PS: I received a wonderful parcel from Lolitaneko a long time ago, and I promise to post pics tomorrow. Sorry. Embarrassed

5  Re: Used Book Swap Gallery! in The Swap Gallery by dreamergirl on: July 07, 2007 02:26:03 AM
lilylola and I have both received. And I decided to post pics of what I sent her. A little book on Indian Dance in Russian, a booklet about a Ukranian national dance ensemble, a children's story book. And a Bulgarian book about the holiday called Lazarovden, that has a lot of photographs of national dress from different parts of the country. I also took pictures of some pages in the indian dances book.

6  Fading Daffodils and Lemon (tempera on paperbag) in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by dreamergirl on: July 05, 2007 09:28:15 AM
It's not much, but I am particularly proud of this painting. I used a paperbag from my lunch the day before. I went with my instincts and just assembled a composition of yellows. The painting is from live observation and the daffodils were already fading so I tried to capture that as well as I could. I derived great enjoyment from painting it and I hope you like it.

7  Birds in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by dreamergirl on: July 04, 2007 04:53:32 AM
I drew these at the end of March and finally got a chance to take photos of them. They are cards at the moment but I'm thinking of changing them into framed pictures. I drew them from photographs of birds I found on the internet. What do you think?

European Robin

Purple Finch

Spotted Towhee

Red Crossbill (I have no idea why it's called a red crossbill when it's actually yellow  Huh )

9  Re: Fashion Doodling Anyone? in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by dreamergirl on: March 31, 2007 10:22:42 AM
thanks loukr & shydeana

loukr - in the second photo, what are those white circles meant to be? The dress looks great with them. Is it threaded ribbon, or beads, or something else? I love that dress, very McQueen reminiscent and dramatic.

Here are a few more of mine.

"The Darkness Doesn't Frighten Me When I Have My Bunny"

"Pink Draw-string Skirt"

"Pink Grasshopper"
