23  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: love/hate valentines day swap! SIGNUPS january 1-10th SEND BY february 1st on: January 06, 2008 11:36:00 AM
i read the title wrong and thought i couldn't do this swap. but i can. and since valentines day is my birthday Smiley it is perfect...though i hate the holiday. happy new years and i can't wait to get crafting this swap sounds cool.

It's my birthday too!  I don't hate the holiday but it sure makes it hard to do something special on my birthday- so it's more of a love/hate relationship. Smiley

This is great!  I had that flower fabric (made a halloween costume from it) and I like the monster fur on the inside too.  I have a question for you though.  I started to recon a suitcase a while ago and the stench from the decaying polyester made me throw it away.  Is there something you did so stop the smell or did ripping out the lining and replacing it make it go away?  Or does it still smell just not as bad?  Rockin' awesome work.

I'm not very good at looking at the "replies to your posts button" so you might have gotten this apart already and if so, sorry.  On mine there were 3 little slits on the back that the plastic face fit in to and I just shoved a screw driver in them and wiggled it around until the hooked piece popped out.  I know the blue one is the most recent color from Ikea and mine is at least 6 years old so I don't know if they changed the design any.
26  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Re: It's impossible to find a pattern for a stitch like this! RAWG RAWG! on: December 13, 2007 12:00:34 PM
This is most assuredly knitting and it looks exactly like the stitch used for the Braided Mischief scarf by Teva Durham in the Scarf Style book.  It's called the braided cable.  Since you were asking for a crochet stitch I'm not sure how helpful that is Smiley  I also think, looking at the direction of the stitches that it was knit from the bottom up.  Maybe if you don't know how to knit this would be a good reason to learn, hehe, or maybe someone knows of a crochet stitch that looks enough like it for your purposes.  Cheesy
27  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: We Love Our Blythes/Pullips Round 6 - Gallery! on: November 19, 2007 11:06:28 AM
Here's a quick picture of what I received from KittyVegas.

She made Yoshi 3 skirts (black knit with white heart lace, tulle with roses and lined with black, and purple with blue and green dots), a black kitty hat and awesome black and white striped leg warmers.  Thank you again KittyVegas, Yoshi just loves her new clothes and she thinks they go great with her new purple hair.
28  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / Re: Cake Topper Woes on: November 13, 2007 07:05:43 AM
I had cake topper woes as well.  I made some out of polymer clay but I ended up burning them and painting over the clay but I didn't get that done in time to give to the cake decorator so we ended up with a fondant bow as well and I put the clay dudes off to the side.  Here's a picture:

I can't find my close up picture of my guys though.  We had the reception at a winery so those boxes in the background are inventory Smiley  Looks kind of strange in the picture but didn't look bad in person.

Have you picked a baker for your cake yet?  Definitely talk to them, they might have some ideas for fun toppers involving fondant or something else.

Hi, I just bought my first Pullip and I decided to join this swap too!
This is Yoshi:

She's upset because the one day I want to take pictures of her it finally rains.  I tried to explain that we need the rain but she was having none of it.

Here's one more picture for good measure Smiley

I have another Pullip but he is in the middle of being hybridized (becoming a boy from being a girl) and customized to be a specific character and won't be able to participate Smiley

Whoa!  Sorry about totally missing your reply to this!

Here's the link you requested: http://www.flickr.com/photos/lulubean/sets/72157594359296600/

Maybe that's why I never got any responses from when I first put this up!  Silly me, hehehe.
