Woohoo, I have all three of my cards now!  I love them all guys, thanks so much.   Here are my cards from candikaneiscrafty, carolb and GothChics in that order:

(scanner didn't take too well to the shiny bits and I sized them inconsistently but these are all very lovely cards in person and they are hanging on my feature board ^_^ )

Colorfuldayz: Valentine's Day is also my birthday! Happy Birthday to us!

w00t!  I got my M card from sewknitter a few days ago (sorry I didn't put up pictures sooner!).

M is for M&M's!

They are even artists themselves!  (Sorry about the blur, the lighting wasn't that great when I took the pictures.)

She also sent me a few extras, including some of those delicious candy treats which got gobbled up quick!

Here's how she made the little dudes (hope she doesn't mind me letting everyone know):
Quote
I made the M & M's from bread dough, baked. Then layer after layer of paint, and then mod-podge. Then I added the eyes, and realized they needed to be painted! so again a few layers of paint and mod-podge.

So clever and so cute!  Thank you sewknitter!

I LOVE the colors of this necklace, gorgeous.  She snuck this necklace into the package.

I adore japanese things and she snuck this charm in the package too.

She also gave me some CUTE fabric but I'm waiting to make things from it before I post them up Cheesy  Thank you soooooo much atsuko!  You are such a super swap partner.

It was Penelope waiting for me!  I'm so glad she's home.  She came back with an awesome Winter coat, a sweet party dress, a suitcase for all her clothes, a cd with music (can't wait to listen) and a box of yummy chocolate.  When you said you were sending Smarties I was thinking the tart sugar discs that we have here but these Smarties are made of chocolate and therefore 1 million times better.  It took a lot of constraint not to just open the box and devour them on first sight.  They are currently all gone.

Here she is fresh out the box (I love her chenille accented coat):

And here's her in her sexy party dress:

From the scrapbook it looks like she had a lot of fun as oppose to yarnhags humble claims.  She even went on a date with a serenading penguin!  I think my favorite picture, though, is her trying on hockey equipment.  Too funny!

Penelope is a pixie that I made especially for this swap from the Sprite pattern on CrochetMe.  I made her limbs shorter, used a smaller hook, colored her differently and added a wild mess of hair and little felt wings.  I was concerned about her warmth so I sent her in a sweater, skirt and pixie hood too.  She was fun to make and I'm glad she's back. Smiley  (I'll take better pictures later, I was just too excited to have her back)

Thanks yarnhag!  You did a great job. And I also congratulate you on finding out the baby is a girl.  Girls are the easiest to craft for, that's for certain.  YAY!

25  Re: Ongoing Offer What You Have (Crafts/Supplies) Swap - Dec. 24-Jan. 24 in ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED by lulubean on: December 31, 2006 09:03:32 AM
I claim gavagai for small reversable bag with Stitch on it.

My list includes:

1. My Little Pony ripe for refurbishing.  Her hair is "doable" but I've lost the comb and crimping iron that she came with... sorry about that.

2. Red Heart Yarn.  Choose from the [4 primaries] OR the [gray and variegated (purples, khaki, greens)]

3. 1 gallon bag full of Mardi Gras beads

4. 3 balls of Elann cotton yarn.  Two balls Sonata in Incan Gold (sorry, one of these balls had been used for a project but I didn't like it with the other colors so it was ripped out, I promise it's a full ball), one ball Sonata in Coffee Bean.  Alpaca no longer available.

5. Two balls of Lion Brand Cottonease in light blue

6. Or I can make you something knit from the above yarns or something from my stash, if you have something in mind.  I can also sew just about anything.

(I'm also willing to do personal swaps if you want something off this list that doesn't get claimed first)

I claim AmaZing for [Charms. 1 heart charm. 1 bell charm. 1 cherry charm. 1 charm with wire wrapped fake pearls. 1 star charm on thin blue ribbon. I will send them with a purple wallet, address book and a gold box!]

My list includes:

2. Red Heart Yarn.  Choose from the [4 primaries] or the [gray and variegated (purples, khaki, greens)]

3. 1 gallon bag full of Mardi Gras beads

4. Elann yarn.  Two balls + a little extra Peruvian alpaca in natural, two balls Sonata (100% cotton) in Incan Gold (sorry, one of these balls had been used for a project but I didn't like it with the other colors so it was ripped out), one ball Sonata in Coffee Bean.  Offered all together or separately, which ever you want.

5. Two balls of Lion Brand Cottonease in light blue

6. One "Branching out" scarf in elann Peruvian alpaca.  My neck doesn't like alpaca, so it has to go to a good home.

Shock arrived yesterday to warm and rainy weather here in North Carolina but he was happy to get out of his box!

He also managed to find his favorite food as soon as I showed him the kitchen, hehe.

He didn't even realize he was so close to something he so fears (outlets)!  I'm really looking forward to showing my new buddy around town and I hope he's ready for some fun!

30  Monster Cupcakes for Halloween in Halloween Decor and Parties by lulubean on: November 06, 2006 11:11:55 AM
Last year I got Martha Stewart Kids magazine at Halloween time and they had these great cupcakes that I just had to try.  I made them again this year and I think these turned out much cooler.  The homemade frosting is the bomb as well.

Here's an example:

Go here to see the rest: http://static.flickr.com/118/287989761_f14df4cc84.jpg?v=0

I used Red Velvet for the cupcakes, dark chocolate M&M's, gumdrops, gummy worms, Good & Plentys, strawberry whips, marshmallows, chocolate chips (whole and melted), black sprinkles and gel frosting.  I halved the frosting recipe and still ended up with way too much frosting for 24 cupcakes- when I made it last year I had 3 tupperware tubs full of frosting and had to throw most of it away!  I didn't eat any of these but my husband's co-workers tell me they were delicious!  Smiley
