1  Re: Flora the Elephant Ami - pattern testers please! *Update - I now have testers* in Crochet: Discussion and Questions by lulubean on: September 11, 2009 04:24:08 PM
Rather then start a whole new post to show off my Flora, I thought I'd just put it here:

Her name is Ensign Lulu Pegg and she is an engineer on the Federation starship USS Noah.  Smiley  I used yarn I had lying around which is why she's brown rather then gray.  I think she's adorable and I was highly influenced by being at Dragon*Con this weekend when choosing the dress and tights colors.

The pattern was great, easy to understand and I highly recommend it!

Thank you so much for posting your cupcakes!!  Yours were so cute that I was inspired to make some for my mom for Mother's Day.

They were so much fun to make!

4  Re: love/hate valentine's swap gallery! in The Swap Gallery by lulubean on: February 22, 2008 06:40:42 PM
My package from ningy finally made its long journey across the globe to me:

A shirt that says "Love? Oh... that!" written in sharpie, a whale stuffy with a heart, some cute Japanese ephemera and a Valentine note on postcard from the Singapore Prison Service.

Thanks for the package! Smiley

9  Re: We Love Our Blythes/Pullips Round 6 - Gallery! in The Swap Gallery by lulubean on: November 19, 2007 11:06:28 AM
Here's a quick picture of what I received from KittyVegas.

She made Yoshi 3 skirts (black knit with white heart lace, tulle with roses and lined with black, and purple with blue and green dots), a black kitty hat and awesome black and white striped leg warmers.  Thank you again KittyVegas, Yoshi just loves her new clothes and she thinks they go great with her new purple hair.

10  Re: Cake Topper Woes in Weddings and Bridal Showers by lulubean on: November 13, 2007 07:05:43 AM
I had cake topper woes as well.  I made some out of polymer clay but I ended up burning them and painting over the clay but I didn't get that done in time to give to the cake decorator so we ended up with a fondant bow as well and I put the clay dudes off to the side.  Here's a picture:

I can't find my close up picture of my guys though.  We had the reception at a winery so those boxes in the background are inventory Smiley  Looks kind of strange in the picture but didn't look bad in person.

Have you picked a baker for your cake yet?  Definitely talk to them, they might have some ideas for fun toppers involving fondant or something else.
