11  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Discussion and Questions / Pattern for this type of cushion? on: June 26, 2006 03:09:37 PM
Hi, I recently just bought the frame for a chair like this: http://i11.ebayimg.com/03/i/07/88/33/a3_1.JPG
and I need to make a cushion to go on it. I thought I saw a pattern for one a long time ago, but I can't seem to find it anymore. Any tips would be very helpful, thank you!
12  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Puffy sleeves on a strapless dress? on: June 22, 2006 06:31:23 AM
I am in the process of making this dress (view B, the flared one) : http://www.1sewingpatterns.com/images0/5561bsim.jpg
I was originally going to add on thick straps, but I think I would like to have short puffed sleeves instead. Much like this dress: http://www.marymagdalene.jp/catalog/saihan/rrop2006_02.jpg
Is there an easy way to do it? Would it just be a matter of taking a long rectangle of fabric, inserting elastics on either end, then sewing the edges to the top of the dress?
Pardon my paint skills....

I hope that makes sense...
13  CLOTHING / Sewing Pattern Reviews / Seeking pattern similar to this dress... on: June 14, 2006 02:05:50 PM
Hi, I'm looking to create a dress similar to the one pictured here:

I'm mostly looking for a pattern with a similar gathered empire waist bodice, a form fitting waist, and a large (maybe circle) skirt underneath. (I won't be doing the laced up back)

The closest I've found so far is this: http://www.mccallpattern.com/item/M5039.htm?tab=dresses&page=1 is the closeset I've gotten. However, I only want the gathered bit to be on the front of the dress and not on the back.
Any help or tips would be greatly appreciated.  Smiley
