1  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / have you seen my stapler? on: May 06, 2007 05:28:40 PM
this was inspired by the office space movie.  I made it this week and put it in the felt inanimate objects craft challenge.  this was just for fun, without using a pattern it came out ok, but next time i'd like to figure out how to make the seams nice and crisp, just using stuffing makes them kind of round all over!  but it's nice and big and above all RED!!!

enjoy!

2  Archive of Past Craftster Challenge Entries / CHALLENGE 18 ENTRIES / Have you seen my stapler??? on: May 06, 2007 05:19:47 PM
I made it this week, since I got reminded there was a felt Craft Challenge on!  It was inspired by poor Milton's favorite office accessory in the Office Space movie.  Enjoy, this was just for fun!  Have to say, so many of the other entries are just AMAZING!!!  I used felt for most of it, cut it freehand.  The logo was cut out from white cotton quilt fabric I had with the aid of scissors and fusible interfacing (to keep fraying at a minimum.)

3  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / 5 lbs of rosemary branches, what to do... (anyone need some?) on: April 23, 2007 11:01:20 PM
Any ideas?
what should I do with about 5 lbs of fresh (well cut 2 days ago and beginning to dry) rosemary branches?  I tried to make rosemary water with the stovetop steam distillation method (big pot, brick, bowl, ice, inverted lid) and it's slowwwww as hell.  I've got so much and no idea what to do with it.  anyone need some?

i need some advice, I don't really want to throw this in the compost heap!

5  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / tea towel on: April 13, 2007 09:14:06 AM
thought i would post this, i made it for the teatime swap.  i applique'd and embroidered it.  it came out alright, but I'm not that experienced an embroiderer.  first pic is a detail of the towel and 2d is a pic of the towel under the other stuff... sorry, i can't seem to find the correct picture of just the towel, will look for it and try to substitute that asap.
I appliqued 5 motifs (2 teapots, 2 teacups & one more)  and embroidered around each one.

6  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Teatime themed pop-up card on: April 13, 2007 08:57:39 AM
Thought I would share this- here is a pop up card I made for the teatime swap.  It was fun to make and inspired by my Robert Sabuda pop up books!

7  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Owl Memo board and Owl garland on: February 12, 2007 07:47:15 PM
This is what I just sent to Avian Flight, who organized the Owl Swap Round Three.  I was lucky enough to get her as a partner and I really enjoyed crafting for her.  I thought I'd share some of what I made her here.

This is an owl garland I made her, using some slide masks and a lot of glue stick.  I strung it on some cool yarn I had.  The other is an owl memo board I made her.  I hung it from cotton twill tape.  It's doublesided and very light, as it's all applied around foamcore.

enjoy!

8  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Beauty & the Beast Jewelry Box on: February 12, 2007 07:39:54 PM
This was for a recent fairy tale swap that I was in.  The illustrations are from Mercer Mayer's Beauty and the Beast picture book.  I printed out the pics on photo paper so I could get really brilliant detail and affixed them to the hexagonal box and spray varnished the entire thing.

9  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Castle tin on: February 12, 2007 07:35:20 PM
I figured this might go well in this category- this was part of a recent swap package I sent out for the fairy tale swap!

This is a tin that I spray painted and reverse stenciled.  i used rustoleum and enamel spray paints.  I had trouble with it, there is definitely a learning curve there!

10  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Hanging Peter Pan mobile on: February 12, 2007 07:32:04 PM
This was for the recent fairy tale swap- I made a long hanging peter pan mobile!  It was tricky to figure out how to balance it properly.. and I also had the added hazard of two curious kitties who were *very* interested in it.  I was afraid they'd eat it!

Components:

I used floral gauge wire- the 16 gauge you can get at the craft store.
