1  Zoom Hat in Crochet: Completed Projects by vinny on: September 27, 2007 05:59:20 AM
Im very new to crochet, but i've written myself a hat pattern already Cheesy

The shape was based on my partners favourite bucket hat (a plain dark blue cotton hat bought cheap in a supermarket) and he tried it on as I made it, offering suggestions as to how he would best like it.  It was very simple to do, only using double crochet (UK term - single crochet in US terminology) throughout.

I wrote up the pattern on my blog, after checking my stitch route..  I havent tested it yet but probably will sometime over the next week or two in different colours.  The hat is named after the rocket shaped Zoom ice lollies which come in the same bright colours.

2  Re: Kodama Tote in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by vinny on: October 01, 2006 09:24:44 AM
i just wanted to add - this is the first tote i've ever made, my first iron on, and my first try at applique.  so i am totally over the moon with how it's turned out, it's the very first time i've ever made anything that ended up looking exactly as it did in my imagination.   Grin

in case anyone wanted to use it, here's the gif for the original trio of kodama:

and here's a glimpse of a whole page full of them Grin

eta: if you do use the gif for anything, id love to see what you make with it..

6  Mini Messengers in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by vinny on: August 15, 2006 12:07:27 PM
I made these with a smaller simplified version of the messenger tutorial.  The fabric for these came from the local scrapstore.  These are my first finished sewing projects that I have done completely on my own.

7  Mystery Yarn in Knitting: Discussion and Questions by vinny on: August 04, 2006 01:44:09 PM

Can anyone help me identify this yarn please?  It's very soft, it looks like one loosly spun strand of wool, with a very thin strand of something black wrapped round.  I think it's maybe a dk or aran.

Please help!

9  Re: "Fetching" from Knitty: Summer 2006 in Knitalongs by vinny on: July 19, 2006 02:03:18 PM
i've done everything except the thumb on the left fetching, using blue ryc cashsoft

depending on whether i run out at the end of the second glove, i may use a complementary colour for the thumbs..  i think i started with a full ball but it had lost its label and my scales are not that accurate..
