1  Re: Alice in Craftster-Land - SEND DATE: 1/7 in The Swap Gallery by Kenners on: January 14, 2009 11:01:16 AM
I received my parcel from Xray Kitten a few days ago, and its was amazing!

Here are the pictures! I love everything!

First of all, this amazing quilt/wall hanging... Its just so Alice in Wonderland! There is  the chess board pattern, the wonderful Alice illustrations and the heart/spade/club/diamond stitches! Its fantastic! It keeping me warm at the moment  in my craft room, but if I ever have kids its being hung up on their bedroom wall and I'll force them to love Wonderland as much as I do!

Next up - a scarf of pure genius! Its a Snark Hunting Scarf! I may just have to get together an entire Snark Hunting outfit! Yay for Lewis Carroll references!

I love it!

Finally, a very Wonderful Wonderland Classic! Tea and tasty Eat me treats!

The tea is Lucia Tea with saffron, chili and other spices and I can tell you it is delious Smiley It is only going in my very finest tea cups!

The biscuits are also divine. They are so very very tasty. They said eat me and I did! This is what's left... I'm saving them for tea and treats later in the week!

Thank you so much Xray Kitten, everything is amazing!

Right - First of all apologies to SalutingMagpies for taking so so long in getting these pictures up. It was very naughty of me  Undecided

On with the pictures!

I received a wonderful bag from SalutingMagpies. Its so me Smiley Lots of lovely textures and earthy colours... its so gorgeous!

The navy fabric is a lovely wool, and is complimented by a panel of wonderful ribbons and laces, here is a close up:

There is also a fantastic beaded, feature button... the beads are so bright and pretty!

The bag also has two bamboo rings attached on the handle (great for attaching my keys to so I don't have to search the bottom of my bag for them! Genius!) which have beautiful beaded strands attached - including felt beads! I love felt beads Smiley

Its such a fantastic bag - I am so grateful to SalutingMagpies and pseudo_pix who sent the materials! She also sent a little extra - this amazing bell... again its so me! It makes me smile Smiley

Thank you thank you thank you

I received a lovely belt made from a lovely greeny/blue wool with great tassles

and a great little box. The colours are fantastic together and there is a bejewelled  'bellydance' on the top. Its really cool Smiley

I received a stunning package from Mimik a few days ago - I'm so impressed with everything!

First is this beautiful, embroidered cushion

Next a lovely set of Moroccan latern style note cards and a table centre piece in the same style.

A set of four wonderful note cards, made with the classic middle eastern skyline pattern and some great patterned ribbon.

A beautiful and intricate photoframe with stunning tuquoise inset stones

A covered box (I'm using it to store some of my sewing threads at the moment - its keeping my desk tidy!) using a great middle eastern style paper with arabic script on it. Its lovely.

Now my favourite two pieces, a stunning tea tray using a similar paper to the box, and painted in such lovely muted, earthy colours. Its perfect.

The paper has some great arabic horses on it too!

And finally a great partchwork bag, made with a beautiful block printed fabric. I love it so much. Its fantastic.

Thank you so much Mimik - I love everything and appreciate it all so much!

5  Re: Jar of Whimsies Round 3 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by Kenners on: October 03, 2008 02:44:53 PM
I received from cupcakesorbet this morning - she only sent yesterday, Royal Mail really are on fire at the moment!

I love everything, its such a perfect selection of whimsies! It made me so happy.

Upon opening the parcel, the first thing I come across is this

I forget what these things are called, but I find them totally mesmerising, I love them.

Then I unwrapped the jar from these fabrics

The animal one is so adorable - I think I'm going to use it to make labels for presents, or for fun little bags. The tie dye is so beautiful and so me - cupcakesorbet dyed it herself too.

In an envelope there was an awesome postcard (featuring a picture by cupcakesorbet's mum - its superb, I really love it), an Alice in Wonderland playing card (I'm a totally Alice nut) with a squidgy flamingo and these amazing vintage jam jar labels. They are awesome.

Onto the jar. Look at all the pretties!

All unpacked - it took me ages! Lots of squee-ing too.

I picked out some highlights (most of the parcel - it was so wonderful)
The craft materials:

Some beautiful ribbon, floss and pretty pretty feathers

Natural materials

I'm a bit of a hippy and I love rustic, natural materials. All these shells (with holes drilled in for jewellery making - now that's one thoughtful partner), sea glass and gem stones make me so happy.

The people/creatures

I love the little cat and the witch hair clip - very appropriate for October

The teeniest little cow in the world

A few of my other favourites including some beautiful ceramic plaques that I may turn into earrings, some felt beads, leaf charms, map badges (straight for my Wist, I'm so grateful for these). You may notice the egg box picture - cupcakesorbet very considerately checked whether I had any phobias, and was amused by the fact I have a friend who is terrified of egg boxes. Utterly terrified, I think its hilarious.

Finally, two pair of gorgeous earrings. I love them so much. I know I've said that a lot in this post, but its really really true.

Thank you so much cupcakesorbet. It was all brilliant.

6  Re: Make a purse with this stuff Swap (Sign-ups 8/26-9/12; FIRST Sendout 9/26) in ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED by Kenners on: September 08, 2008 04:48:45 AM
Ok, so my fabric arrived a few days ago and I love it. I've gone for something subtle and quite toned down, but still interesting and fun (thats where the lining and trim come in). I think this Indian cotton is gorgeous... its woven (I love woven things, love love love) but has touches of colour and looks very ethnic.

It reminds me of some Free People bags I've seen. I really like it, and I have a gorgeous taffeta lining to match the burgundy colour in the stripes. So the outside will be all rustic, but the inside more luxury.

I only took one photo of two of my dotees, but here it is. It shows a bit of a close up of my dotee that went to BDDesigns (the red to the right).

Right, off to work!

Apologies for the delay, but here, finally, are the pictures of my final two dotees from lylmousy and BDDesign. Here they are...

From Lylmousy

She's a nature loving dotee, she loves watching the leaves change colour and fall in the Autumn. She is also totally lovely.

From BDDesign

She has a lovely painted face, and lovely tattoo-esk decorations. Lovely she is!

Thank you so much for all my dotees!

Righto,

Here are the dotees I've received thus far!

From Baa-me-Chick

Isn't she lovely, so flowery and smiley - she makes me happy!

From Tygir

I love tea (as does Tygir) so this little pretty one is so perfect. I love it.

From Jenicat

Doesn't she look so peaceful. I love the colours, they are some of my favourites and I'm totally in love with Peacock feathers.

Thank you all, they are all beautiful and I really appreciate the hard work and inspiration that have gone into them!
