1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / "Hi! I used to be a ... cape?" on: April 05, 2006 07:55:17 PM
So, I bought one of those weird, African cape/dress/robe/muumuu things from a thrift store due to its pattern and bountiful amounts of fabric. It's also a pretty thick fabric, good for winter.

The full thing.

You can see the pattern and the button closure better on this one. I just used five panels with a little flare at the bottom to create the little ruffle-like effect at the bottom. Easy as pie!
2  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / I'm like a missionary of fashion. on: January 26, 2006 03:22:53 PM
So, I made this skirt a while ago but I am super, super bad about posting. Seriously, in the past week I've made two dresses, 2 skirts and shirt. No telling in the past month! But in any case, I've decided to post this. I made it out of sale fabric I bought from Hancock, that I believe features Our Lady of Guadalupe.

A close-up on the pleats and the fabric. Don't mind the basting I was far too lazy to take out. Hey, maybe someday, right?

Anyway, I did use a pattern, but I'm not sure which one. I can look if anyone is interested. But I remember it was super freaking simple and I'm sure anyone could figure it out.
3  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / My dream come true! But what to wear? on: December 16, 2005 07:10:42 PM
So, in January we are having a techno dance at school. Which is going to rule because my physics teacher is DJing and he is a mad man, and plus techno ... just yes. But seriously. What do you wear to a techno dance? I was thinking some footless tights, maybe some sort of neon minidress. But what would you wear?
4  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Scrapbooking: Completed Projects / A few scrapbook pages of mine. on: July 01, 2005 02:24:29 PM
Sorry about the photo quality, I was too lazy to take them out of the album to take their pictures.

Pockets full of crap from school. And some pennies ... ?

I went to the opera a while ago, and this is what I got.

A drunken Littler Mermaid ... yeah, I'm confused too. But it still amuses me. Sadly.

A spread from a Homecoming adventure.

A science project done really well. But alas, we did not win. Too bad for us.  Cry
5  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Uber-plain tote. on: July 01, 2005 02:18:13 PM
It used to have a logo from some bank on it, which I proceeded to cover with felt in a really big hurry because it was ugly but I wanted to use it. So because of my not-time spent on it, it's kind of lame. But ... whee!

6  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / All the cool kids are wearing bedsheets. on: July 01, 2005 02:10:38 PM
Yup, that's right. Including me. I'm such a scenester.  Roll Eyes

It's just a regular circle skirt with a waistband, side zipper and side tie.
Kind of a crappy picture, but it's SO hard to take leg pictures.

Here you can see the side tie kind of better. Plus, who doesn't love mirror shots?
7  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Dino tote. on: July 01, 2005 01:40:03 PM
I like dinosaurs. A lot. And I also like tote bags, so ... yay?

It's a felt applique. I just drew it on a piece of felt, cut it out, you know how it goes.

It's made out of a crappy old brown dress, so it had these nice pockets on it that I was smart enough to use on the inside:
8  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Hotel shampoo and other hygene crap. on: June 29, 2005 04:29:29 PM
I have the tiny bottles of shampoo, conditioner, and hand lotion which I won't use because they smell weird. I also have 2 crappy bars of soap, a shower cap and a thing called a shoe mitt, which is basically a glorified scrap of cloth.

I felt bad just leaving it there to get thrown away, but I don't really need any of it.

Craftiness? Anyone?
9  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Latch hook materials? on: January 31, 2005 02:09:17 PM
In art we are doing this project that is essentially a latch hook, and mine is a giant ensemble of random materials, but I am running out of ideas. Of course, there is the standard yarn and miscellaneous ribbon and rick-rack and the like, but what else is there?
10  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / A crapload of cheap plastic pom-poms. on: October 24, 2004 06:08:37 PM
Like that you would get from a football game or something. I have about six, all golden yellow. And they fill up an entire sack. I like them, and have no ideas. So, here's where you come in.

They also kinda smell.
