I have and still use my kenmore sewing machine. My grandfather gave it to me as a .
teen, ah-hem 30 some years ago.

I keep saying it, this is the best book, you can see what is wrong and fix it. Love it!

The Ultimate Serger Answer Guide: Troubleshooting for Any Overlock Brand or Model (Creative Machine Arts Series) (Paperback)
by Naomi Baker, Gail Brown, Cindy Kacynski

http://www.amazon.com/Ultimate-Serger-Answer-Guide-Troubleshooting/dp/0801986451/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1251232296&sr=8-1

Set your sergers free!!!

My 936 has the electronic guide, and I just lie to the input display and set the machine the way I want. But I love that it reminds me how to set it up and not forget something. It has an auto threader. And I bought all the auxiliary feet.

Get a set of aux. feet on eBay NOT your dealer, unless you can haggle with the dealer, lol.

I'm about to go into a skirt serging frenzy, so I'll post pics as I can.

Hey, we are heading out to eat at "Shields Tavern" so gotta go. TTY(all)L!!

Donniesgirl, yep those ads are annoying in IE, so I switched to firefox.

Here is the proper board to explain the problem to:

hey, all, I'm in Williamsburg. It is okay. Anytime I'm not on a beach, it only "okay." lol.

Tomorrow we go to Virginia Beach, yay!!! Anyone want a knitting on the beach party?

Donniesgirl, here's a link:

gathering with a serger.

Which model serger do you have? I've had a bunch of different ones. Right now I want to sell my Husqvarna-viking 936 and get a stripped down model. It is over-kill for the kind of sewing I do. but I love how easy it is to use, <SIGH>.

I came in on page 55 and now we are at 64. See you in STS30 as that may be the next time I get online?

I don't mind cleaning the fleece, I just need to move it off of the porch before it starts snowing (could be in just a few weeks).  Did anyone who claimed the raw grey fleece from me in the spring ever spin it up? I don't know how suited most of it is for spinning, some of it is pretty messy.

Well it took me two weeks to just clean the smell from it. I cleaned one day, dried the next, for two weeks. Hubby was really upset because it was a "pee" smell. And it kind of permeated the house. The fiber seems long enough to spin. Maybe it just inherited the smell? I've never had a fleece smell like this, usually it is just rancid lanolin smell. Of course, hubby isn't so fond of that smell either, lol.

I just got my new picker (yep, from Kaydessa, yay!) so I'm going to try to pick it next, and when I spin it, I'll post a picture and let you know how it spins.

Twiz hope the meds you've chosen really help, we miss you when you aren't here.

Klum78, what machine do you have? Isn't it fun to discover new features on the tools we use?  Automatic buttonholes is a GREAT feature.

Oh, I'll definitely get some. It just needs to stop raining. (Rain, rain, go away...)

Oh, sure AQ, and then the excuse will be you haven't worked in so long because of the rain . . . you couldn't take pics because of work. Wink

You can locate them here:

ZeldaS maybe its just a bad week where you are, and things will be better in Sep. Aug is a vacation shorthanded/cranky time in lots of places.

out of town company and touring this past week. I'm bummed. No one's packages made it to me yet . . .  <SIGH> have to wait until Monday.

My cha-cha is coming! Yay!!!

Babs/courduroy cat took pics of my custom cards, will post later -- Thanks!

Okay, I'm getting to go to Williamsburg for a bit, with some side trips to Virginia Beach and Richmond.

What shops, sights, etc. should I look for? Any suggestions?

Muria, you did great on that bag. I love that you colored in some of the flowers! Such a great idea.

Now that my swap is finished, and down to only one swap, I'm going backwards to comment on everyone who posted already.

Such great packages!

a2k what a great package, love the bag AND the stuffings!

OhThat your bag was beautiful, too.

superhooker, oh wow! the cabled socks, they are really great. I must try that pattern too.

Can't wait to see the other things coming!
