Great photos, wow, I agree so nice to put faces to names.

Here is our photo, 1976, haha! Back then we had a wedding so our parents could show off that they trained us right and we turned out right. So very few choices.

We rented a place that held 200, and had a dessert reception in the evening. All the people that came brought a small dessert to share. 400 people actually showed up.

We had a handmade wedding cake. I made my dress, Mom made our flower girl dresses, and all the bridesmaids and I worked on their dresses.

I did most of the bouquets, table decorations, and everything but the invitations.

There weren't any pc computers, they mostly used keypunch cards, and no copiers. So I would have had to hand paint (rubber stamps only were for businesses, lol) each invite. Nowadays it is so much easier to do everything yourself.

what are you doing with your spun yarn?

We pile it up and roll round in it cackling!

Actually, we're doing pretty much what people do with all yarn - knitting, crocheting & weaving with it. I guess the stuff that baffles you most is the crazy art yarns? Because there are thousands of projects out there for the more standard yarns.

Well...they can just be art - put them in a glass bowl and look at them. They work great as chunky knit scarves and hats - or just as a trim on the end of a plain stocking stitch hat or scarf. Or the really chunky, short stuff can be used as necklaces.

What have I missed?

I don't think you missed anything. I love the idea of, "roll round in it cackling!" I think I do that the most.

Ke Ting, I make hats from mine, here's only one example, click on the pic for close-ups.

I love mixing the colors.

For bigger pieces like sweaters, I divide the individual balls into smaller balls, one small ball for each "piece" I have to make.

Say I'm going to make a vest that has a back, and two fronts. I first divide all my balls in half, because the back is going to take half. Then I divide the remainder into two more halves. So I get one half ball & two quarter balls from each "original" ball. This way I always know I have enough of each color to do all my pieces.

Oh, and I don't CUT the ball, I tie a piece of yarn at the dividing points. That way if my idea doesn't take the WHOLE half, I have left over yarn that is only one piece.

Does that help?
