2  U.K. AND IRELAND / WALES / Re: Hello Wales! on: July 08, 2008 03:49:27 AM

There is indeed a fine variety of pound shops, such a fine variety that I was able to decorate my flat for xmas for just 5 including tree, wreath, mantle piece decs and many more haha you've gotta love swansea!

Sorry I just saw this.  Thats a bargain indeed.  My housemate would be so jealous she decorated our house this year from hypervalue and charity shops but she didnt get bargains like that!  I cant wait to get down there again.  Im thinking a trip to Swansea would be the perfect reward for getting all my uni essays done.  Uni steals all my crafting time its most distressing!

hehe poundland is a must for any holiday! halloween decorations, glowsticks for concerts and of course xmas. it's a students heaven !

argh swansea is the best.  Well I was there 2 years ago and happily ran from pound shop to pound shop collecting things I could craft up and it left a good impression on me.  Especially those stairs on the sea front which lead to nothing.  Im hoping to visit again this term to do the pound shops, all my student loan allows me, and wander the beach.  Does it still have such a fine variety of pound shops?

LazyKate - there is a great wool shop in llandeilo (about 30 minutes from carmathen) they have loads of stuff and are really lovely.

sludge7 - I cant believe we live so close!! I have friends in Talley so I'm there quite alot when I'm home from uni!

6  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / Re: What do we have in the US that they dont have in the UK? on: May 01, 2007 01:46:56 PM
I'm gonna post an odd thing, I hope it's okay. If not, someone please don't hesitate to tell me where to post something like this request:

I will happily and delightedly work out a trade with someone from the UK. I will trade things you want from here (US - specifically Southern California) if you could tape Eastenders for me and send me either video tapes (Pal, doesn't matter) or cds/dvds, however you can do it.

Once a week, I get to see two episodes of Ee, and we are almost 5 years behind you guys Cheesy   I used to get BBC America that had five (yep, 5, count 'em!) back-to-back episodes every Saturday morning. I was in heaven I tell you!

I'd love to work something out. I would even make labels so you could have pre-addressed to make it easier.  WhooHooooo!

added: it can be art/craft supplies, food items, something I make for you...  Cheesy

I don't know if you've already seen it but on the bbc website you can watch the highlights of each episode? there is usually an omnibus on sundays here too, it might be better if you got someone to send you those  instead? much easier than recording episodes 4 days a week? just an idea or there must be somewhere you can download them (not that im condoning that sort of thing of course)

I realize...!  And maybe he will send me some goodness back (I am really hoping for a Kinder Surprise egg...those are banned in the US and I really want one!!) Lol.  But I just wanted to send him some US goodies.  =)
Kinder suprise egg banned Huh but why Huh
(I would give you some suggestions of stuff britain is lacking, but according to previous post, the stuff i thought we didn't have can be bought easily! )
