My newest little creations - mini crochet coin purses.




I found some crochet coin purses with the cute little metal frames online and I had to give it a go. The hardest part was finding a decent price on the purse frames which can be outrageous even for little tiny ones like this.

After that I just had to figure out how to make the darn thing. But after about 4 hours of trial and error (and a unraveling too fat or too skinny purses) I figured it out. And I've been making them like crazy in lots of fun and fabulous bright color combinations.

The purse frame is only 5 cm wide, but opens much wider to get fingers in to dig out change. I've also ordered 8 cm frames, but they are coming all the way from Hong Kong so I'm having to wait a wee bit.

Anyway, enough rambling - what do you think?

I think those crochet mary jane slippers are sooo cute. So I decided to test out some of my own, but I put a teeny twist on them: fuzzy wuzzy was a slipper.





I crocheted these using regular black and then added in some fun fur in this gorgeous electric blue color. They are so fuzzy and comfy on the inside. It's love.

I made a little detachable flower pin to go on the side just as some fun decorations, also.

Can anyone please please help me find the fabric for this purse: (link removed) Sorry that it's an etsy link; I'm not in any way trying to premote my store. I just really need to find this fabric again.

I originally bought it at Joann's, but I can't find it anywhere on their website. So if anyone can tell me the designer or anything about this fabric I will be so grateful!

I found a purse like this down in Galveston while I was visiting, only it was crocheted with hemp and dyed. It was so cute and summery, but since summer is more than half over I decided to try one with yarn in a more autumn friendly color and this is how it turned out.



What do you think?

I would've put more dangles on it but only 15 dangles cost $3.99, so I spaced them out a bit and jazzed them up with some seed beads. I'm pretty proud of how it turned out. A bit of a different take on the hobo purses with all the sequins.

And if anyone is wondering, the inside is lined with white and black polka-dots and it closes with a black metallic snap.

Does anyone know where to find shell disks, preferably large and very thin, with a hole in at least one end?

 I've only found one provider, the Oriental Trading Company, which provides 24 for $5.95, which would be fine, if the shipping wasn't another $6.95.

I'm looking for them to attach to the front of some purses I'm crocheting so would really like to keep the cost down because I'm a poor college student and I don't think they will sell if the beads end up costing me a buttload thus upping the price of the bag.

And if you don't know of any disk providers, are there any sites out there providing those big sequins with the single hole at the top like on the ever popular hobo bags that are available right now? I have some shiny clear ones, but I need black also and can't find them anywhere.

Any help would be so greatly appreciated.

I've been making crochet themed purses with little felt decorations and then a matching lining.

A couple with skull themes sold, but my other ones, which I know have only been up for a little while, haven't, and I just wanted some opinion back on style, pricing, technique, etc. Maybe the themes aren't popular? or the colors? Any suggestions would be appreciated since I've never sold anything of my own making before.

The whale one is my favorite right now. I think it if doesn't sell I'm defintely going to keep it for myself and parade it around because I'm just so in love with the little whale and the colors.

Full thing. He is about 7in. tall not counting the swirlie at the top.

Open up the top and you have a little container. I lined it with some fabric I had around the house so it wasn't just the white plastic of the yogurt container.

I'm moving to Galveston in the fall to go to A&M and let's just say I'm nervous. This is my first move away from home, and I'm a little worried about finding my way around and such. I've been looking on galveston.com for restaurants and the such, but I was wondering if anyone could give any tips on cool places to eat, shop, craft stores, etc. The kind of stuff locals know.

Hi all!

I've been working on this blanket for about a month and just finally finished it tonight. It's made out of 20 TIE Interceptor granny squares.

And as a break somewhere in the middle of making the blanket I stumbled across the posts of Star Wars embroidery around here and knew I had to make one to go with the blanket, except I couldn't find anything to transfer the pattern with onto dark fabrics, so I drew it on freehand with white eyeliner and then did my best. It's my first embroidery attempt and I do not claim to be an artist, but I still really like how it turned out. It doesn't hurt that the pillow case is soft jersey. I may or may not have been sleeping on it since I've made it.   





The solar panels on the wings are done in black so you can't really seem them, but sure can feel them.

Both of these are going to my boyfriend when he comes to visit me this Friday. Am really excited about showing them to him.
