1  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Selling Crafts on Etsy.com / Re: Facebook Ad? on: September 20, 2009 01:31:39 PM
Facebook ads can be very spendy for a small craft budget. Most people spend like $5 a day and depending on your bid value you may not get very many clicks for that cost.

But! If you join the Visa Business Network on facebook, you can receive a free $100 of advertising credit on facebook. It's great! So definitely check that out if you are still thinking of advertising on facebook.

Good luck!

I have one, too: http://facebook.com/bhallelujah

Off to fan you all!

I'm sorry to hear your first sale went so poorly. That is always a bummer when something arrives broken, but at least you are learning up front about the risks involved. I would definitely have buyers purchase insurance and make sure your packaging is as secure as it can possibly be.

And if you want to avoid something like this in the future you can state in your policies that unless insurance is purchased, you are not responsible for what happens once the item is shipped.

Good luck with your next sales!

She's lovely! I love her tail the most. Very nice job.
5  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Re: Cool crochet font on: September 03, 2009 10:00:28 AM
What a good idea for a font! I can see it really helping out people who write lots of patterns. (Not me!) I also like your idea of using it to decorate crochet related items. Very cool.

This is really beautiful! I love all the colors and the combinations you did. It looks wonderful. I definitely wish I had the patience to complete something like this.
7  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Re: The reward for excellence is a Pink Puff Stitch Hat! on: August 28, 2009 06:14:05 PM
This is way too funny! But I really love the puff stitch used in the hat. Great stuff.
8  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Re: Wedding Kanzashi ♥ on: August 28, 2009 06:09:56 PM
So very beautiful! I'm sure you'll blow them away with this one. I think it's a great accessory for weddings, completely embodies the beauty and innocence of it all.

Plus the fact that it's handmade is amazing! I, too, want to do a lot of handmade things for my wedding, but I don't think I could pull this off. I'd go ahead and spend the money for it though. Totally worth it.

Good luck.
