1  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / make your own tapestry yarn needle on: July 22, 2006 08:41:20 PM
This is a pretty simple idea however someone may find it useful:

If you have any extra bamboo/wooden needles which you have made out of chopsticks (or a lone needle), take a small drill and drill a hole through the middle.  Thread your scrap yarn through the hole and now use as an extra large tapestry needle.  This is especially useful, if you are like me and have lost those special tapestry needles to thread scrap yarn onto a project to try on.

2  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Help with Knitty's Men's Thong pattern? on: July 07, 2006 08:41:48 PM
I am trying to knit this thong and having a lot of trouble with the "pouch" part of the instructions (Beg short rows as follows section).  It's a little vague, especially the "continue in established pattern"  for how long?  Don't quite understand those directions-- arrgh!  Also, the "repeat from * 16 times".  I'm not sure if I need to redo all of the wrap (short rows over in addition of increasing every fourth row).  I have looked all over the internet and found one other person having difficulty with this pattern.

If anyone has already knitted this or someone can understand the directions better than me, please help me out (as in line by line directions).
