1  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Discussion and Questions / Re: Have you ever made a bag and wanted to kick yourself afterwards? on: March 31, 2007 06:20:54 AM
MyDestny, that is just plain mean!!  I'm a mom and I have no trouble keeping stuff in a bag with a snap.  In fact I prefer a snap to a zipper since you need QUICK access sometimes.  I've also NEVER had a complaint about snaps and I've made probably hundreds of diaper bags at this point.

I do it all the time.  My friends never seem to mind me dumping it out and taking pics the next time I see them. In fact I think they expect it now. lol

I've never had a problem with magnetic snaps and electronics.  I do use snaps in my wallets because of the credit card issue but never in bags.
4  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Crafty Business Discussion / Re: Selling To Friends on: March 22, 2007 12:29:03 PM
I would charge her full price too. I've had experience with "friends" where they just started taking advantage of me giving away my crafts for free the first time that they keep asking for freebies. Close friends I don't mind but "friends" I hardly talked to, I don't want to keep giving my crafts for free. Like the other advices given here, I would explain that she needs to pay for them.

ITA. Even at $15-$25 a handcrafted bag is a smoking deal.

I love it. I am slowly trying to get the hang of wallets and yours is PERFECT!! I love the fabric, very bright and cheery. The bag is wonderful and I have actualy going to start on a similar bag, and wish the button hole function on my machine wasn't stupid, because a button does look cute on the strap.

Well, you're in luck!  I didn't use a button hole because I wanted the button to be accessable from both sides.  I just used a fabric loop caught in the top seams for the closure.  Smiley  For the straps I sewed the straps together and sewed the buttons on afterwards.  I was afraid that the button would come undone when the person was full so I faked it.

Sure!  I can't get to it today though.  I'm working on a couple of other things.
