5341  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Discussion and Questions / Re: Need help finding pattern/tutorial on: October 09, 2007 04:56:43 PM
that looks super easy to duplicate. in fact, i think i may, i'd like a new diaper bag  Grin

it looks to me as though the straps are separate pieces though why you wouldn't make it one long tube as K.E. suggested is beyond me, think of all the layers to stitch through!
i'd add the side snaps as well, the bag will gape open if not. and some stiff plastic or cardboard (cover with lining fabric and make it removable for bag washing, replacing etc) would help out the bottom.
have you got a shot of the inside? i assume it's pretty basic, 1-3 side pockets on one side and another zip pocket on the other seems to be standard. the change purse is cute too.
if i ever get around to making one up i'll be sure to post some pics (i'm still unpacking around my new babe and the 6 y/0).

you can send a PM to ghilie and ask her if she's still letting people have it.

i have to sew a leg and the face and body together and stuff, just got some more fluff at the store but no eyes, so sad. i'm taking my time with this project so it'll be perfect  Wink

i'm doing it with the card stock and so far so good. this fabric is such a big itch to sew with so i'm having to take extra time and care anyhow.
i am super lame about following instructions. ever since school i usually just wing everything, i'm used to creative solutioning. i keep having to go back and read over yours though. serves me right, i should just sit down and read them through from start to finish. Tongue

two eyes that don't look quite as good as MK's (even though i made them twice), 20 minutes of turning the teensy tail right side out, three pattern pieces cut out without seam allowance, thread, pins and fabric EveryWhere ~whew~!
this pattern hasn't made anyone else want to kill something?
good thing she's such a pretty dolly!

make two? i hardly even know how i make the one! i never use a pattern, just kinda make it up as i go and let the inspiration guide the project.
my little boy is always trying to get me to make another but... once it's done the inspiration is gone and i couldn't if i tried.

hee hee, at dinner tonight he got me to tell the story about 6 times, all about the parts and what colour he said to make them, oh LAUGH! he's so cute.
didja see the 4 tails? beaver (?), cat, lion and dragon. hillarious!
i finished my stuffie for the halloween swap so now i can get cracking on the poppets. i dragged out the machines and all the fabric only to find that i don't have the kind of eyes i'd like to use. poop Sad. hafta make a trip to the craft store or order something online i guess.
