It took me a while, but I finally finished this scarf as a surprise for a friend.



It's made of squares from a vintage granny square pattern, out of thrifted yarn, with a size 3 hook.  I'm really pleased with how it turned out! It was a great pattern for on-the-go, too.  Maybe I'll make one for myself

I made this ruff as part of an ongoing attempt to make a dent in my yarn stash.  The pattern was actually for a capelet, but I only had one skein of this mohair as it was thrifted.

I'm really pleased with it but am unsure how to integrate such a fantastical thing into my daily wardrobe.  With pizzazz?

The stitches are on the bias, it has a bubble shape and there are blossoms on it

The jury's still out on the color: in some light it looks bubblegum pink, at other times it's almost purple.  The only place I could find where the color photographed accurately was on the carpet

The yarn was thrifted (laceweight I think); I used a 5mm hook and finished all the yarn. The size is about 50 cm across the top, and the lace pattern is from a Dutch craft book.  It's the first thing I made for myself since a while .

This wrap was finished a few months ago for my mother.  It's a basic chevron stitch in an acrylic yarn.  When I wanted to be done with it she kept saying 'it's not long enough' but in the end I'm glad she did, or else it wouldn't have been able to wrap around anyone!
 


This purse I finished recently; it's a birthday present for my friend who loves pandas.  The russian stitch was so small and repetitive I nearly passed out with boredom but again, I'm very happy with the result!  The size is meant to fit a novel or manga, since my friend loves to read these.

I've been working on this scarf on-and-off for a year, and finally finished it! It was a great small project for on the train or in between classes, and I'm really pleased with the result although I'm not quite sure how to wear it (hence the giant bow).  The length is about 120 cm; I just kept crocheting until I ran out of yarn. It was a skein I inherited in my great-aunt's stash.

I call these 'Seafoam' because I saw a pair of socks exactly this color described as 'Seafoam'.  Even though nothing in the sea is this color.  Also, it's a type of wave pattern.



It's my first knitted item ever except some garter stitch scarves.  The wristwarmers are just rectangles of this lace pattern (from some book) with garter stitch edgings.

I finished these two wraps recently; the capelet is for my friend and the shawl is for my sister.



This capelet was finished quickly because it was a lot of fun to make.  There was no pattern, just a basic increasing lace diagram in an old book I have.  I used about one skein (100 grams) of acrylic yarn from my stash.  It's a little shorter than I'd like, but there you go.



I made this shawl for my sister- it took exactly two skeins, including the flower pin.  It's been named 'Sergio Leone Shawl' because the stripes remind me of Clint Eastwood's poncho in 'The Good, the Bad and the Ugly'.  Kind of lame, I'm afraid.

It's also not as long as I'd like, but now I don't have to feel guilty about starting some new projects, since these are off the hook! (Lame pun! I couldn't help myself.)

I made this sweatervest to use up some scrap wool yarn my friend gave me- he also supplied the yarn to make the back (or should I say his mother did).  The pattern is my own; actually, there's no pattern, I just crocheted the pieces and joined them up.

Hmm, I see there are still a lot of loose ends...

Oh yeah and I made this in less than two weeks!  Wow I never thought the day would come that I would actually crochet something remotely garment-like.
