That is beautiful and it definitely deserves to win!
2  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Re: embroidered Eels "I Like Birds" shirt on: June 22, 2005 03:57:10 PM
Thanks everyone! This is the first crafty thing I've posted here, so I was nervous.

The shirt is from Old Navy! I picked up a couple of them last week. I didn't freehand the letters, they are a font called "Little Days" and I printed them and traced them onto a bit of Sulky Solvy after reading numerous recommendations for that here, and then used a hoop to keep it in place. After I embroidered the words on I just rinsed it away.

ratjen- You should give them another listen! I love that album too, but they've put out so many good albums since that one. The only one I didn't really get into was Shootenanny. (P.S. I'm one of those people who only really likes Pablo Honey, so it's funny that you mentioned that!!)
3  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / embroidered Eels "I Like Birds" shirt on: June 21, 2005 10:57:44 PM
I am finally going to see the Eels next week. I was looking through needlecrafter.com the othe night and found these cute birds, so I decided to make a shirt. This is the first thing I've ever embroidered, so it's not the best ever, and the words slant, but I think it's a good first try.

Words and birds.

Bird on chest.

How it looks on. The neckline at the back dips down to about bra-strap level, should I put something back there? I was thinking about two birds, facing each other, holding a banner, but then again, my fingers hurt.
4  NEEDLEWORK / Sublime Stitching Embroidery / Re: How long does shipping usually take? on: June 17, 2005 10:59:21 AM
I agree, I am on the east coast and was amazed when my patterns arrived after just a couple of days!
5  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Stitchalongs / Re: The Popular "Lipstick" Pin-up Girl (adult themed) on: June 15, 2005 11:14:00 PM
I was actually thinking of putting her on a shirt last night! I have another shirt that I want to finish up pretty soon, but after that I am so on this "lipstick" girl.

Ha! This page is starting to look like one from the PM forum, all familiar names!
I still love this rug!

9  CLOTHING / Sewing Pattern Reviews / Re:Butterick 3134 - skirt on: May 04, 2004 08:23:05 PM
That is really cute! I looked it up on sewingpatterns.com and it turns out that I already had that pattern, so I'm glad it looks so nice when it's made. I need to get started on it.
