3  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Discussion and Questions / photographers studio on: September 10, 2008 01:17:57 PM
Hey Everyone,
I am designing a photographers studio right now for class, and it will also be where the client lives as well.  I was wondering if you all would pitch in with their thoughts and suggestions of what they would like out of a photo studio in their house, just to get a different perspective on it.  Thanks!

5  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / Re: The random RESIN question thread! on: July 25, 2008 05:37:31 PM
Hey a new problem has come up with my next batches of resin.  Can anyone explain to me this: in the same batch of resin some pendents will harden perfectly fine while others will never solidify at all.  Why is this?

Thanks PinkyK...I am using the...oh whats it called...the one where you do fifty fifty...would i do more of the #2 then? I tried my second poor today.  My first batch never fully solidified so i put them in the freezer for a bit to help pop them out of the mold like ice cubes and it worked really well.  This time im keeping them inside and thankfully tomorrow its finally going to be in the 80's so hopefully they will set better this time thanks to everyone for their help i'll let you know the outcome. Smiley

Hello everyone i tried resin for hte first time this weekend and i'm having a problem that I havnt seen happen to anyone else yet, or I just missed it somehow...anyway

I did my first batch of resin in trays at 3 on saturday....came back 3 hours later and added some goodies and repored a new batch of resin over half of them.  I then wated 24 hours and the second batch of resin is reallllly goody still in 1 mold, sticky and others...and kind of hard in the last few, but none are as set as the first batch i made were.  As far as i know i used the exact same proportions on both of the batches.  Im in colorado and it reached 100 degrees this weekend and I was curing them both outside and in my 87 deg. house, hot dry air doesnt seem to be missing from my equation.  I appreciate any suggestions anyone has.

i have drawn on both sides of the shrinky dink before and it worked out perfectly fine, its really cool if you draw o both sides of the clear shrinky

I tried using an over head sheet, and it definitely shrank and didnt melt which is exciting, i still think i will need to tweak with the time and temperature because it did not shrink proportionally (went in a square came out a rectangle) but i think it should be cool because it has a different look then the clear shrinkys
