SO beautiful. She's very lucky. I love that graphic/vector-ish look. Awesome.

22  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Re: Pansy Motif for tablecloth on: November 12, 2007 03:49:24 PM
So, sooo beautiful. I'm totally inspired to learn embroidery. Would you happen to know of any websites or books that teach the basics?

If I hit This Rocks any harder, I would make a hole in my screen.
23  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: March Basic Sweater on: November 01, 2007 09:30:54 AM
It looks a little big on be because it was either I get 3 inches of ease, or -1  Undecided It was quick for her, she did it up in two weeks for a couple hours a day. The wool is soo soo soft, and all the stockinette was definitely worth it. This is a great pattern for a VERY basic cardigan, which is exactly what I like, and I intend on making it myself sometime with different stitches and yarns and maybe some cables.

The only bummer about March Basic is that they don't walk you through the reversal of the stitches for one of the fronts. They basically just tell you to go to it.. figuring that out was probably one of the more time consuming parts of the project.
24  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Gordon Lightfoot Portrait on: October 31, 2007 11:02:29 PM
Hey! I drew this about a year ago, and put it away because I pretty much never wanted to see it again.. since then I've moved and... well.. I like it again.

(I gave good ol' Gord comic-booky Superman lips because I thought he looks better that way, hehe)

What do you think?
25  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Untitled Nude (CAUTION, NUDITY!) on: October 31, 2007 10:58:42 PM
So I've been on craftster for a year or more now, and I've never posted in the "art" forum before!

I've also never drawn a nude before. My subject was another image, and not a live subject (I just moved to a new town and didn't want to introduce myself to people by asking for them to pose for me naked.. haha!).

Anyways, comments welcome!
26  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / March Basic Sweater on: October 31, 2007 10:48:38 PM
Hi! My mother in law just knit this cardigan for me! The pattern is from the wonderful people at Berroco, called "March Basic". It's made of an Alpaca/Wool blend and I just love it. She added to the length of the overall sweater and each of the sleeves by 2inches or so, and it fits my long waist and monkey arms perfectly!

I've never knit a sweater before, so it was nice to see how she did it, and I'm excited to try a bigger project now!
27  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / Re: Halloween Wedding on: October 21, 2007 10:09:17 AM
Orange and black doesn't have to look halloweenish! I was married just this past August and my colors were orange, black and green. My centerpieces were all bamboo and the napkins were a nice sand color..

I have photos, if you'd like some ideas!

My bridesmaids wore black, with a nice green satin scarf, and they each had an orange gerbera daisy. I thought they looked beautiful.
