wow!  iam more shocked that you found one for $5!  i've been searching for a cuckoo to paint for years, but a working one sells for anywhere from $50-$250!  you found a real bargain!

Really??  I thought it was a great price but I didn't think too much of it because it's just plastic.  It's not one that the bird comes out and sings.  The bird moves with the pendulum and it plays a song every hour.  My mom had one when I was a kid but it was wooden and you had to pull the long acorn chains (for some reason I never knew) and the bird came out of a little door every hour.  Ahh, nostalgia!

I guess I could've said that in the post.   Embarrassed Sorry.  I spray painted the base and covered the shade with fabric using elmer's glue on just the edges.

Ugly lamps cramp my style

I bought this clock at a yard sale for $5 and I knew it I could give it a new life.

I took it apart, replaced and painted the hands, painted the entire clock pink and repainted the numbers and bird.  I also swapped out the ugly chains with a string of white beads to hold the acorns.  I love it!

I see you like Rimmel's Rapid Ruby too!  That is my favorite polish ever!  The color is THE perfect red and you only have to use one coat of the polish.  Plus the brush they have now is way better.  *I like your shelves too BTW  Wink

I don't know if I've commented before but I absolutely love these!  I revisit this project over and over.  I have to make these to add a little nostalgia to my cupboard!  Thankyou for the inspiration.

I am so appreciative of all the super nice comments!  I can't believe that for as long as this post has been up, I still get comments!

What's more is, my husband is the interior designer but I was the one who put this room together.  Go figure!
