21  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Anyone made the Color Block Sundress from June/July BL mag?? on: July 12, 2004 12:25:39 PM
I was wondering if anyone had made the awesome reconstructed "color block sundress" from the latest issue (june/july) of Budget Living magazine.
(for those of you who haven't seen it, it's not on thier website, but i can scan it and post it if you'd like)

i love this dress, and do alot of reconstructing of old T's, so i am so excited to make this.
just wanted to know if you'd tried it and if there is anything i should know/do that isn't it thier directions. or perhaps, better ways to go about making it, etc.

(does this make sense? sorry--i just woke up).
22  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / Baseball Necklaces....anyone know how to make one? on: July 04, 2004 11:39:09 PM
So, this guy that always comes into my work wears this awesome necklace made from a baseball, like the leather on the ball is cut along the stitches, making the necklace...i can't really explain it well, but search on ebay for baseball necklace and you'll see what i mean. (i wasn't sure about posting a link to someones ebay auction).

anyway, i also saw that someone on ebay was selling the instructions for $20, which i am so not going to pay, so i figured i'd check with all you crafty people first.

thanks, have a crafty day, bekki
23  Arizona / Arizona: Central / Help! please recommend good YS to a traveler.... on: May 04, 2004 01:03:48 PM
This is my first post on these boards, hooray! i live in honolulu, hi and am taking a vacation next week to phoenix (tempe, really). my problem is that i wanna knit on the plane and just called TSA and i can't bring my aluminum needles on board. Sad
anyway, knitting isn't very popular here, so finding needles that aren't metal/aluminum is nearly impossible (yes, i have called every craft store on the island).
i was wondering if any knittters in the Phoenix area could recommend a good yarn/knitting store. I really want to get bamboo, wood, or even plastic knitting needles....so i can at least knit on my plane ride home.

Please help!!!
Thanks, and aloha, Bekki
