craft-matic, that's an awesome idea! i love it! hmmm....i wonder if you could just somehow do it in anonymous blog form. (the site urban counterfeiters comes to mind--http://www.urbancounterfeiters.com). or even have links to the letters that are hosted someplace else like chillingeffects.org

i may also be posting the letters that i got on chillingeffects.org, when i have the time, which won't be for awhile.

i know right, you would think that i hit on the next big thing or something....haha

it's strange too b/c the "3rd party company" had originally bought 2 pairs of earrings and only sent me a C&D for one, and now they are trying to come after me for the 2nd pair, which isn't even on my site (and i do believe they bought the only pair) anymore. maybe since in the end i ended up making money (b/c they bought 2 pairs of earrings from me, so i made like $14) they are upset. Wink

OK, so it's been about 2 months since this first C&D thing started and I just thought I'd share this, b/c i can't believe the people at this "third party company" sent me ANOTHER LETTER! This one is about another pair of earrings they bought (when the bought the first pair that started this whole thing, and I'm not sure that I mentioned, but it's a different brand). Basically they were like, "we see that you took down the 'Brand Blah-blah' earrings and stopped selling them, but we need in writing that you won't sell this brand anymore" WHAT!? so, of course my awesome awesome lawyer is on it, b/c legally, since i have representation, they can't contact me, and they did, but still, what the hell?!? now it's just harassment i think.

Just wanted to share, b/c i am just like, "huh?!?!"

p.s. since this seems to be coming back, and perhaps now i am under their "watch list" I'm glad i haven't mentioned any names!

p.p.s. even though i haven't mentioned names, i would like to warn any crafters out there using bottle caps (or bottles or cans), be they vintage or soda or beer, to be careful and prepared, i did a quick etsy, google, and ebay search and found quite a few people using the same brands that i did. it can be quite scary to get letters like this, and you should know your legal rights and be prepared to contact legal assistance. (and, please PM if you do get a letter maybe I can help).

oh my gosh! i love it! and i also love that you feel that he's old enough to carry his own things. i work with 2 to 4 year old children and all day long they walk around and do all kinds of things for themselves, and sometimes when the parents come to get them, they just scoop up their kids and carry them to the car--(i know they are in a hurry..but) it seems like they forget they have "big kids" that can be/want to be very independent!
what a fantastic bag! i agree with someone else that said, i be he loves it!

38  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Re: I'm stuck in a rut of shrinky dink pendants (pic overflowing) on: March 07, 2007 02:46:24 PM

I find the easiest way to spray-coat anything is to use a cardboard box with short sides; the top of a copy paper box is ideal for smaller items.  You can then easily transport them back inside for drying without messing them up.  No chance of newsprint getting on your freshly painted or sealed stuff, either.

great idea! (and i hadn't thought about modge podge smearing the ink)

your pendants are beautiful! i've had the same questions about "sealing" the ink on shrink plastic things i've made. i'm wondering about modge-podge. has anyone mentioned or tried that?

you (or someone) also mentioned burning holes into the shrinky dinks (post "shrinking" i assume?) something i do that seems to work is just take a hole punch to the plastic before putting it in the oven. it gives a nice round hole and is really easy. Smiley

great work!
