1  AMC Gremlin- Tent Kit? in Discussion and Questions by Suburbanthrill on: October 08, 2007 04:45:49 PM
I'm purchasing a '74 amc gremlin to be my first art car. I've heard about tent kits that turn the back of your amc into a camper-type sleeping quarters and thought that would be a pretty cool addition. I can't find any online to customize, so I was wondering if any one had one or has seen one in person and possibly had any tips on how I could make my own.

Here's a photo I found online. It's actually a Hornet pictured here, but from what I've heard it's the same tent.

2  Re: curly skirt thingies? what are they called? how do you make them? in Clothing: Discussion and Questions by Suburbanthrill on: November 29, 2006 10:50:32 AM
I'm not sure if this is exactly what i'm looking for, because i can't tell if those fabric pieces are attached only at the top and loose the rest of the way down. This is the fluttery effect that it makes though. Basically, im asking if there is a way to make fabric strips curl that isn't entirely dependent on the type of fabric you are using.

3  Re: Pirate, yes... guy/girl? in Halloween Costumes by Suburbanthrill on: November 07, 2006 07:25:38 AM
Very cute costume! I always had teachers who went as "cats" (headband ears...) or witches (hat...) so I love seeing who teachers get into the holiday.

Funny story:
My mom who is also a teacher, also went as a pirate, was also gender ambiguous, and was also not recognized. LOL

The creepy part was the four nights before Halloween that she spent perfecting her eyeliner beard. I came in at 1am and found her sleeping...with the beard...

4  Valley of the dolls...and the dog (*pic heavy*) in Halloween Costumes by Suburbanthrill on: November 06, 2006 10:18:55 AM
This is my sister's costume. I made the entire thing from scratch (excluding the tights and shoes). It's the most complete outfit i've ever made, so im pretty proud. You can't see all the pieces because she was wearing a hoodie.

This was the first year she went trick or treating with her friends instead of us, so my mom and i were sitting around her house feeling left out. We got the woderful idea to dress up the only baby we have left. So we rooted through the old costume box and put together...

my dog's costume, which i made the skirt for my sister's costume last year. surprisingly, she didn't hate us. She actually loved getting all the attention from the people who came to our door.
