32  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Craft Supply Swap? on: April 24, 2005 08:57:33 PM
I know about a month ago....or maybe a little longer there was a topic about starting a new craft supply swap.   However, I never saw an actual listing in the swaps section so I assume that the ones who were interested in organizing such a swap must have gotten busy as of late.   I am still interested in having such a swap, and maybe in keeping it as a shoebox sized container.   Maybe tie it in with spring cleaning?   I know my craft bin(s) need to be gone through like mad, and it being spring and all....

So who else in the mood for a Craftster Spring Cleaning swap?

Summer is just around the corner and with everyone getting out their shorts and sandals it would be a good time to get an anklet swap going....anyone else?   Cool
34  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Xmas Creations - Necklaces on: January 06, 2005 07:13:13 PM
I made these for my cousins for Xmas.  I cut the chain, wire-wrapped the beads, and bought the charms.   All in s. silver (of course!), with either swarvotski, chinese, or chech crystal and some glass.  My cousins loved them and I knew I had to post them!

For my 2005 graduate cousin.  Her school colors are maroon and white.

35  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Discussion and Questions / Applique Question on: August 12, 2004 09:27:50 AM
Okay, so I want to try my hand at Jordy bags, and and idea for an upcoming dog show raffle is to attempt a silohette of certain dog breeds as an applique on the outside of the bag in the same pattern as the bag's lining (bag's outside is solid color).  My question is, how do I do an applique without the edges becoming unraveled?  I'm pretty new to sewing in general, so do the typical cotton prints tend to unravel?  Or do I have to stick to felt for appliques?

36  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Journal Idea on: March 14, 2004 01:10:25 AM
Has anyone seen 1,000 Journals (www.1000journals.co m)?  If so, you know how hard it was to get your hands on a journal.  So, I have an idea.  How about a traveling Craftster journal?  I have a blank one I can mail out, I would just need to get some interested folks and a list going.  Hopefully this one can make it back home and I'll set up a webpage for it.

So, anyone interested?
37  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Picture Frames on: March 08, 2004 01:27:36 AM
I made these for a friend of mine who just brought a daughter into the world last week. ^_^  Just a bit of craft paint and those Jolee's scrapbook do-dads, and viola!  So fun, and I want to make more!

Along with her sister book, Simply Handmade: 365 Easy Gifts and Decorations You Can Make (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0696207826/qid=1075020898/sr=1-1/ref=sr_1_1/103-3813465-3502266?v=glance&s=books).

I've checked both of these books out at my local library, and absolutely love them.  TONS of pictures, and most of the projects need very little in the way of instructions (I.E. - pretty darn easy).  Where instructions are needed, they are easy to follow.
39  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Question for the Experts! on: December 23, 2003 01:15:33 PM
I'm fairly new to the site...and to heavy duty crafting.  Recently I got an awesome new printer and can print images to decopauge with.  Question is, is there an adhesive that won't smear the ink?  Or would this be more of a "try as you go" approach?
