Ask on Freecycle, and craigslist. 
I have a ton of glass in my garage waiting for republic services to give me bins (HA HA) and also a ton of newsprint and mags, if you want.

Go to bars and ask them to save you bottle caps,  some have a special bucket hanging under a wall mounted bottle opener, and they'll dump them right into your waiting hands.

Yes, and sorry that no-one responded, but there are a few, My favorite is Wooly Wonders, it's on Tropicana and Pecos (east side) they have nice yarn selection, and helpful employees, and they have spinning and weaving classes/supplies as well.
