2  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Discussion and Questions / Looking for anatomical heart pattern on: September 18, 2007 05:52:25 PM
It's actually not for cross stitch/embroidery.  It's for a painting but the needleworked anatomical hearts are the kind that I'm looking for.

Has anyone seen a pattern?  I've looked through here and google images and I can't find anything.

Thanks a bunch!

3  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / For pendant necklaces - what's your favorite cord to string them on? on: August 30, 2007 07:46:10 PM
glass pendants, wood pendants.  what's your favorite thing to string them on?

i'm looking at one of the sections on firemountaingems, http://www.firemountaingems.com/thread_cord.asp and they have a lot.

i've done ribbon, stretchy rubber cord, a sort of string/hemp cord.

also, finishing them off - how do you make them look nice and professional? i've used the ending crimps that you fold over both side to close over the end of the cord, but it really doesn't look nice.

they look like these:
http://www.firemountaingems.com/details.asp?PN=H201948FN
http://www.firemountaingems.com/details.asp?PN=H204770FD

I have a hard time holding those and trying to keep the cord in place all the while trying to close them.  Is there some trick for that?

All tips and advice much appreciated!

4  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Discussion and Questions / What brand of acrylic paint do you use? on: August 30, 2007 07:00:29 PM
Most of mine are either Anita's or Apple Barrel. I get them from Hobby Lobby and sometimes Wal-mart.

I'm curious to know what brands other painters/crafty people use.  And what do you consider to be the best brand out there?

I paint on wood and canvas, mostly.
5  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Ongoing Book Wishlist Swap on: August 30, 2007 02:30:01 PM
Ok.  This one doesn't look like it's going to go anywhere and I have two other swaps that are about done and would like to participate in others. Is there any way to take this swap off my swap list thing in my profile?  Or how does that work?
6  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Re: No More "First attempts" at resin Origami pendants -updated with new pendant on: August 22, 2007 10:37:58 PM

7  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects / Re: Show Off Your Hair! on: August 21, 2007 05:36:56 PM
I haven't read through the whole thread yet so I don't know if any has mentioned Locks of Love.

If you're thinking about donating your hair, please don't donate to LoL.  I don't want to  take the thread off topic but just go to google and search around. The BBB (better business bureau) has had problems with them in the past as well as other problems.  Even if you do decide to keep donating there or will in the future at least you'll have the numbers and information.

Just some food for thought. Smiley

9  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Re: 12 Days of Christmas Swap Round 2 on: August 21, 2007 11:44:57 AM
a little bit overwhelming - but keep in mind alot of the presents were sets - like the stich markers or mini kits. Or chocolate.

Def need to look at it the other way around

78 presents - overwhelming

turns into

78 presents - enticing Tongue

hehe. yes! i'm awake now and i've looked through the other thread and i understand it all better now.  and i've got lots of ideas whizzing around in the brain now. Cheesy
10  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Re: 12 Days of Christmas Swap Round 2 on: August 20, 2007 10:29:34 PM
Oooo. I am bookmarking this so I can read it through better later  as well as the galleries from the previous one.

Definitely interested but being that I'm really sleepy at the moment and not having seen the gallery yet the whole "78 presents" thing seems quite overwhelming!
