|Try to disregard the wrinkle-y-ness...I was too lazy to press it properly for this picture. It's a nice med. weight green satin, a little lighter than in the picture, and it's all cut on the bias. It feels wonderful, and it's a dream to wear. |
Like most Vogue patterns, though, it was difficult and the finishing details were impractical and nearly impossible. 1/8" rolled hems on EVERY PIECE? NO FACINGS? What the heck were they thinking? And the boobs are pointy! Last time I checked, mine aren't. I'm going to fix that before I actually wear it. Other than that, though, I'm quite pleased.
The hem is asymmetrical, that's not just from the angle the picture was shot. And you can't quite see it, but there are installed pieces on the side of the skirt. Godets, if you will. They were very tricky, but ended up looking great.
Overall, I would recommend this to anyone with a good amount of sewing experience. Good luck, and let me know what you think!
