31  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / rose on: January 10, 2008 08:16:51 PM
i read a tutorial on here somewhere on how to make roses out of coffee filters, and today i managed to make my first one!

I'm moving out on the 19th and planning on having a bouquet of them sitting in the middle of our dining room table.  Smiley

32  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects / snowflakes. on: December 01, 2007 06:17:29 PM
so, I ended up at Target and found these snowflake molds for only $2.50 and I couldn't pass them up... (they also had snowmen!)

So I came home and made these!

they're made with glycerin, honey and almond scent, and some oatmeal!
33  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Crafty Business Discussion / craft open house. on: November 09, 2007 06:40:54 PM
I went to an Avon open house and decided that this year, I should do something like that with my crafts. My dad just redid the garage, so my parents said that I could use the garage as my set up area and that I should do it in the first weekend of December.

At first, I was kind of against the idea...as I don't really have many people of my own to invite. All of my friends are very disinterested in my craft business as it is (unless of course, they realize, Hey! Kelly can make that!)

Than my mom told me to think about all of the people that have helped me out, or been very interested. Such as my sisters friends who loved the necklace she wore out on Friday night that I made. Or the lady at my mom's work who gave me her old toaster oven at no charge because she heard I needed one for melting things. (I gave her my very first bead bowl made in it with some homemade soaps as a thank you.) Etc...

So now I'm thinking that I should do this. I guess my question is, has anyone ever done something like this? Has it turned out for you? and... any advice?
34  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / shrinky dinksss. on: September 14, 2007 10:25:46 AM
so, i finally bought some shrinky dinks online since i can't find them anywhere around me. I've had tons of fun making charms and whatnot... and today i finally got around to making them into actual jewelry.

i suck at taking pictures, but here they are.

35  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / dove wrappers? on: September 13, 2007 07:16:26 PM
this guy that is quite fond of my sister bought her two bags of dove chocolates. since she loves me, she gave me a bag... and I saved all of the wrappers with the sayings thinking "someday i'll find something to do with these". Yet two months later, they're still sitting in a container and all over my desk waiting for use.

I folded them into little rectangles, so I'm thinking maybe I could decoupage something?

But I want more than just one use for them.
any ideas?

They say things like "when two hearts race, both win" and "listen to your heartbeat and dance."
36  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing in General: Discussion and Questions / interfacing? on: September 05, 2007 12:13:25 PM
where do you find interfacing? There's so many wonderful things I want to make, but all of them include interfacing.

I'd think that we'd sell it where I work since we sell a lot of sewing supplies, and tons of fabric, but I have yet to run by it. It's starting to fustrate me.

Thank you in advance for your help!
37  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / new obsession.. bead bowls. on: August 13, 2007 06:55:03 AM
So, I've made these before. Quite a bit of them, actually. I have like, five sitting around my room randomly somewhere. But here's what I've made in the past day or so between sleep and work, and the ones I'm most proud of!

38  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / black, yellow, and polka dotted star! on: August 01, 2007 01:41:18 PM
i'm quite proud of the star hanging off this thing.
Seriously, so proud! haha. I guess that happens when you make your very first "charm". Yes.

Here it be:
39  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / earrings on: July 19, 2007 08:56:17 AM
I made these awhile ago, but forgot to post them.
The quality of the picture sucks, but whatever.

40  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / heart elegance on: July 19, 2007 08:49:05 AM
this was inspired by two other people's posts, with the whole triple chain effect. The heart beads were a one-of-a-kind find at the bead store by my house, and I'm so happy with how it turned out.
