1  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / domino magnets on: April 17, 2014 01:15:24 PM
Moved from: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?board=42.0

my mom has this habit of buying things from the thrift store that she thinks i can use, and she bought me these about three years ago and all i've thought since is "What can i do with this.....too thick to drill..... to small to paint detailed things on....." and this is what I came up with.

Most of them were painted with acrylic paint, than i shoved a sticker or something on it, and than added a layer of mod podge to seal it and make it more shiny and eye catching.

2  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / wire and beaded dragonfly decoration on: April 10, 2014 11:39:48 AM
I made these for my sister because she loves dragonflies and finally has her own house to hang them in! They were as easy as they looked, but turned out way better than I expected!!

3  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / acrylic paintings... on: April 10, 2014 11:34:16 AM
I have had a really rough time the past couple of months, and painting is the way I have made it through it all. Here are some of my favorite paintings (I will limit to my top 3... Tongue)

Giraffe Love... this one was done while I was in a wacky dot phase... I painted three paintings where the background was just designs in dots... They look amazing, but sometimes I just want to let the brush go free and do whatever it wants, which obviously you can't do when you're dotting your painting for a couple hours.. haha

annnnd roaring lion!

and my personal favorite (besides giraffe love) is this bear:
4  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / new bracelets on: June 17, 2011 06:57:08 AM
I've been trying to destash to my best capabilities lately (wish me luck...) instead of buying a ton of new supplies...

Here's some bracelets I came up with:

HOWEVER, i did get suckered into buying these adorable owls and making rings:

& matching necklaces:
5  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Jumbo button necklaces [IMG HEAVY] on: October 20, 2010 08:00:09 AM
bought a huge bag of jumbo buttons with no idea what to use them for, than i remembered when i made those button rings and how my boyfriend once said, "hey. why don't you make necklaces out of those too?"...so I did!

6  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / snowmen and snowwomans on: October 20, 2010 07:49:47 AM
I've only worked with clay while in art class, every other time I have ever tried EVER it never turned out even remotely close to what i wanted it to look like.. but i figured the other day that if I'm able to make llamas out of clay, I SHOULD be able to make snowmen.

I made two couples for my mom, and two couples for my boyfriends mother. I'm pretty proud with how they turned out, and it excites me to no end.

Here's all of them together:

7  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / cutest bead bowls i've made so far! on: September 22, 2010 01:35:49 PM
I used to be addicted to these when I first saw them on crafster, and than I ruined the bowl that fit inside of my toaster oven and haven't made any since. Luckily, my dad picked up some mini pie tins from a thrift store for 50 cents and asked if I could use them. They work great Smiley

Here's what I made today:
SKULLS!

robots! unfortunately, for some reason, the pink robots melted faster than the rest of them. but i still find it to be cute.

10  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / resin picture frames on: April 01, 2010 09:56:28 AM
i bought this picture frame mold thinking it was to die for, and finally got my hands on it a couple days ago.

The first one I did, the glitter kind of settled and got all over the word "punk"... but it's still readable, and it's still adorable.

and the second one I did...well, it's adorable  Tongue The only real flaw is that at a certain angle you can't see the "a". but i guarantee it's there!

they have magnets attached to the back, and look great on our fridge! I have a feeling that there will be a lot more where these came from.

comments and criticism welcome Smiley
