1  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Re: christmas painted mugs on: December 14, 2010 11:30:30 AM
I love these, they're so cute. I found them looking for advice for mine, I'm painting a mug for my dad for christmas....

what kind of paint did you use, and did you use anything to seal it? are they washable? I was thinking spray on varnish, but I figured that may be a little toxic? any advice would be awesome (:

4  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Discussion and Questions / covering wooden boxes with polymer clay on: November 18, 2007 09:26:54 PM
Can I cover wooden boxes and such with polyclay in the same manner as altoid tins or hand mirrors?

I would just test it out and see if it works, but I'd much rather make sure if someone else has tried before I burn my house down or blow up my oven. Knowing me something terrible will happen if I don't really know what I'm doing... Cheesy

thanks guys <3
5  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Discussion and Questions / Re: Mosaic on top of fimo? on: November 17, 2007 10:11:13 PM
for the most part, things that I stick in polymeer clay before I bake it end up falling out. so if you were to use clay instead of cement, I would stick the glass (or whatever you're using for  the mosaic) into the clay creation and bake it. when it's done... take out the pieces and put a bit of glue into the indents, and put the pieces back into place.

you could buy one of those stone kits from michaels. like- for your garden. I don't remember what they're called... I used them when I was little all the time... kind of cementy. hmm and just like put it in a different mold besides a circle. Unless a circle's what you want.
6  COOKING / Dessert / Freezing dough question. on: August 12, 2007 11:05:46 AM
I hope this goes here, I'm really sorry if it doean :/

but I had a question. I'm having a party in a few weeks and I'm seeing TONS of baking in my future.

Can I freeze cookie dough, then thaw it out when I want to bake the cookies? How about tart crust?

and how would I go about unthawing them when the time is right? haha

thank you so much for your help! <3

8  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Re: Buying pizza dough from a pizza place? on: July 20, 2007 07:43:13 PM
I know I know, walmart sucks and you probably don't want to shop there...

but my mom makes pizza every saturday night, homemade, and uses the premade dough from walmart. It comes out so well, she bakes the crust first for like 5 mins (don't really know, just to warm it up I guess) then adds sause cheese and everything else and bakes it till it looks good and cooked.

Just an idea, hope it helps you on your premade crust expedition!

awaiting tomorrow's pizza <3,
