only theme i can think of is 'random' -- so i guess themeless would fall under that category too ..

mine are all COMPLETELY different mediums and styles .. should be sending them out soon.

These rock! I'm totally trying it. Just one question. Do laminate the paper (or cover it w/ packing tape) and then do the origami? Or do u do s/t else.

for the ones there, i folded first, then covered the whole thing clear packaging tape. Then, i took a knife and made slits in the tape where the pockets are supposed to be

but...

i recently have been experimenting with waterproofing paper and such for origami vases ... and if you use spray adhesive and put saran wrap on both sides -- its pretty sturdy and its waterproof! (i havent tried this on the wallets but it works wonders with vases.)

i just sat here at my computer and did this with fabric... it was really hard... so i put clear tape on one side so the folds would hold more... then used double sided tape to hold it all together... i didnt have ribbon that matched so i used the double sided tape and some of the fabric and made crappy ribbon... eh it did the job... but all and all im pretty happy with i turned out with... thanks for the info

try starching the fabric w/ stiffy (?) the fabric origami site says that it'll hold creases just like paper

How about a ATC swap??? Lets say...Make and Swap 9 ATC's (To one person) Why 9? Because then you can put them in one of those pages with 9 spots for ATC's.
The theme: could be random, it could be set. I really hope there is interest in this.
If this is a good idea?...
MODIFY-Or make and swap 5 ATC's to other people in the swap...-If that sounds better...

i think the modified thing could be better.. in terms of keeping track of stuff -- a good number to work with too

any idea of when this is gonna start?

and.. are we sending all atc's to the swap organizer and the letting her sort and send or do we send one to each recipient? cuz i think it'd be a lot cheaper and we'd avoid a lot of mail mess ups (uhg. pain in the butt i hate them) if we just send all of the atcs to the organizer plus a stamp inside to cover shipping. what do you all think?
19  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Re: Artist Trading Card Swap on: September 12, 2005 04:52:16 PM
i wanna join! i'm willing to do up to 10 atcs, but since this IS my first atc swap, i think 5 would be a good starting number.

20  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Discussion and Questions / Re: where to buy origami paper? on: August 29, 2005 08:28:46 PM
maybe you shouldn't be looking for origami paper --- try looking for wrapping paper with origami print. (the local japanese store uses it to wrap gifts and such ... very pretty)
