1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / No sew dress help! on: October 09, 2010 09:50:24 AM

Hey guys! Haven't posted here in years! I saw this photo and this dress looked really easy to make. I'm not 100% how to make it though and I don't want to just start cutting up shirts. Can someone give me a walk through? Thanks!
2  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / Chain Necklace on: September 17, 2009 04:57:42 PM
I made a list of things to do before the end of the year and one was to make a necklace. Haha. I have not made jewelry in forever and have since gotten rid of all my supplies.

Could you guys tell me what materials I would need and how to get started? Thanks!

Also, should I buy a bunch of chains or a bunch of necklaces to deconstruct?

4  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / What happens if you cut the neck off a sweater? on: July 08, 2007 09:01:32 PM
I have this sweater and it has this really high neck. My neck is really short and it always looks werid with high necked/turtle necked clothing.

I was wondering what would happen if I just cut the neck part off or if there was a way to get rid of it without destroying it. Thanks!
5  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / I broke two needles making this. Burgundy Polka Dot Dress. on: December 30, 2006 05:29:18 PM
Its impossible to take photos with my broken camera.

Eek. Sorry. I couldn't look anymore psychotic. My stomach looks huge from that angle. Even though it is huge in general it looks even bigger. I have more photos but, yeah you don't want to see those. Haha. It looks way better in person. I can't believe I broke two needles. My Lord.

Anyways this fabric was from Joanns and I got it for like 2.50 a yard. I only bought one yard. This was the last of it. I used the rest to make a tote bag.
6  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / No sew circle skirt! on: October 28, 2006 05:31:08 PM
Its crazy how easy this skirt was to make!
I used this blue polyester fabric.
I didn't do any measuring.
I just folded a square and cut a circle then I eyeballed where to cut the part for the waist.
I didn't add anything else to it and the waist fits perfectly so I don't have to add any waistbands or zippers or anything although I think I'll add a white waistband anyways.

7  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Eeek worse photo ever but I made a dress. on: October 27, 2006 08:45:05 PM
My camera broke when I took it to school. Well just the screen broke so I took a video and then just extracted an image from the video which is why the photo is so crappy.

Its blue cotton I got for $1 a yard at walmart.
It was a pinafore but then it looked gross on me (the downside of making your own clothes, not knowing whether or not it would look good on you)

Then I made the top part following the tute on one of the tops in Generation T.

Then I added bands to the top from this dress I saw stopthefascades made.

I'm never wearing it again. It looks ok but I made no closure. I just sewed everything up and its impossible to put on and even harder to take off. I thought I would have to cut myself out of it at one point.
8  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Shapeless Pillowcase Dress Thing on: September 03, 2006 09:14:34 PM

It looks absolutley awful on me.
Like a shapeless pillowcase.

I love her dress and I was wondering how you would make that.

I'm assuming you just cut the sleeves off a really big tee?
