1  Vitamin Water Bag in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Discussion and Questions by GirlOnMulch on: August 04, 2007 11:04:17 AM
I want to make a purse out of vitamin water labels

(envision a brown paper lunch sack, but bigger and sturdier)

I was just going to do a simple cardboard lining type deal with some fabric on it and use the starburst wallet tehnique (both sides covered in packing tape) for the wrappers.

anyone have any tips for me? I've just broken out of the Trinkets and Jewelry section and I'm super interested in doing wallets, purses, etc.

Here is a pic I drew in Paint

In the first drawing, it looks 3d almost, but it takes about 1 1/3 wrappers to make 14 inches.

Any help?

2  *!Handmade Bead Tute!* 11 pictures! in Beads: Completed Projects by GirlOnMulch on: May 31, 2007 11:40:11 PM
OK, here it is! I was experimenting and decided to try something new for the handmade bead swap, and these came out of it. I love serendipitous crafting. (sorry if that was misused, i was trying to be grandiloquent Wink)

Time: Making+Baking=30-45 min.
       Drying=2-3 hours
          Level= Advanced Beginner and +

Supplies are listed in the pictures. Enjoy!

Clay Baking Info: I used Sculpey and baked at 275 F for 20 minutes.

sorry for the obnoxiously small picture! oops! it says "arrange clay in baking dish" and the picture is of unbaked beads in a dish. how exciting Cool

<<<<<<<TIP>>>>>>> When the clay comes out of the oven, you can either wait for it to cool (which will up making and baking time) or put the beads in a cup with some cold water so they cool MUCH quicker! Back to the show!

AND 3 HOURS LATER (bit quicker if by a fan or outside drying) YOU GET:

tissue paper might work as well as origami paper.

This was my first tute, so suggestions for improving are welcome!  Smiley Thanks so much for look at my tutorial for this GirlOnMulch original!

Other beads with this technique will be posted later!
