281  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Re: movie Swap? on: November 08, 2007 02:32:36 PM
I feel really bad having to say this, But I don't think I can organize or participate in this swap, My step-mom was recently diagnosed with breast cancer, and I've been taking her place in her childrens boutique, so I've been really overworked. I don't feel like I could put my all into this swap. I'd love to see someone else organize it though.

Again very sorry
282  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions / Re: Questions About Hairstyles! on: November 08, 2007 02:20:23 PM
OK another question about weaves, the stylist said she is going to braid my entire head and attach the tracks to those braids (she'll leave out the top for a part and around my hairline) my sister has never gotton her hair done like this, but instead with each track having hair in between

I have baby fine hair, so my sister thinks that the way the stylist wants  to do it will make it to bulky for it to look natural

YOU ARE AMAZING, the shading on the coffee cup looks sooo realistic, and the drops that turn into a person is so cool, I probably wouldn't have been able to draw that much less stitch it

286  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Craftalongs / 1000 Lucky Stars by 2008 on: November 02, 2007 05:59:41 PM
My mom recently was diagnosed with breast cancer. I've heard of the Chinese tradition of making 1000 cranes for better health, I can't seem to make a single crane. So my solution is to make 1000 Pink Lucky Stars

Here is a Tute on how to make themhttp://www.opane.com/luckystar.html
Would anyone like to make some with me? You can give them away to a loved one, or just for luck.
The paper size is 10"x1/2" or something near that size

289  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Stitch And BOTCH / Re: Crafty But Stupid: YOUR CRAFT RELATED INJURIES HERE! on: November 01, 2007 01:32:51 PM
While making my moms costume for halloween (she was a vampire) I had my first sewing machine accident, I've been sewing for two years. Anyways, I lost the pedal to my machine but it has a nifty little button and speed dial that works it without the pedal. I was sewing boning onto the corset of the costume and since the boning was impossible to pin i just held it with my fingers. Well as I reached the end of the seam I should've slowed my machine down, but I didn't and ended up keeping my finger inplace with the boning. It sewed straight through the tip of my finger. And since I didn't have a pedal even when I stood up and tried to pull away it kept going. I couldn't type on the computer for three days. The good thing is that I didn't get blood on the corset, which my sister thinks would have made the costume look more realistic.

I've tried to make several hats, and they all turn out way small or to big and the last one I attempeted never got longer so i just had a huge doily. Idk what happened. I can read patterns just fine (I think) since I'm a really good knitter. I'm working on another beanie with a brim, So far its good, but I'm only two rows in
