1  Simple Bracelet in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by noushi on: May 04, 2013 10:54:12 AM
In the Fill a Box Lucky 13 swap I received some really cool milk glass like beads from Mamaphunk. Last night I was messing around with some wire and decided to make a bracelet with the beads. So here it is. It's my second project with wire.

I used a tutorial at http://katalinajewelry.blogspot.com/2012/01/wrapped-loopstutorial-basic-wire.html for pretty much all of it.

2  Simple Pouch for the From My Stash Swap in CHALLENGE 86 ENTRIES by noushi on: May 03, 2013 01:37:35 PM
I made this pouch for my partner from a swap waaaaay back in 2007, the From My Stash Swap. I originally flaked on my partner (I know, bad me), but in 2012 I sent to my original partner this awesome pouch (There were other things in the package too). Anyways, on to the pics.

The bag is from a pattern I made myself. The outside is some thick fabric I had laying around, the lining is from and old sheet, and the piping was store bought at one point or another.

This is the only pic I have of the lining. The pattern of the bag allows it to stand on it's own with a wide mouth for easy access.

I also made a little pouch to go with it, and it was my first time using a zipper.

All wrapped up and ready to go.

3  Damien The Desert T-Rex in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by noushi on: May 01, 2013 03:39:34 PM
Hi Everyone, I just finished making this cute T-Rex from Bluephone Studios and I wanted to share him.

I've decided he's a rare breed of nomadic Desert T-rex's that live on their own. Right now he's content to live on my desk at work.

Hope you guys like him!

I bought the pattern here: https://www.etsy.com/listing/126495488/crochet-pattern-timothy-the-t-rex?ref=shop_home_active

4  Re: Fill-A-Box Lucky 13 - US Only GALLERY (MAIL BY 4/27/13) in The Swap Gallery by noushi on: May 01, 2013 08:38:39 AM
I got my amazing box in the mail yesterday, but I got a little confused. It came inside of a UPS box that said "Dr. Brown's Natural Flow Baby Bottles" on it... It was a pleasant surprise to open that box and find the swap box tucked inside! As I was unpacking everything it was like I was unpacking Mary Poppin's bag, it just kept going and going. It was full of fabric, vintage buttons, yarn, a knitting book, a bundle of paper, beads, glass bead pins, ribbon, mini erasures, pendants for necklaces, tons of great stuff! Anyhoo onto the pics.

The two boxes.

I just now realized this pic is pretty blurry. It's of all the loots.

My absolute favorites (although it was really hard to pick). The things in the middle that are kinda hard to see are some really awesome glass bead pins.

5  Trading Card Game Swap? in New Swap Theme Ideas by noushi on: April 28, 2013 03:28:31 PM
I'm interested in seeing if anyone would like to have a Trading Card Game themed swap. This could include Magic the Gathering, the World of Warcraft Trading Card Games, Pokemon Trading Card Games, Yu-Gi-Oh, just any collectible card game people would be interested in. People could be grouped based on their interests, but due to the wide variety of games people might not be matched perfectly.

I wouldn't be able to organize (I've never organized before), but I'd be willing to co-organize with someone who has organized before. Also if anyone know of former swaps similar to this please link them Cheesy

I've found two swaps for Magic The Gathering in the past, but neither seemed to draw many swappers.

6  Re: Matchbox Swap 7 (SO 3/30) in The Swap Gallery by noushi on: April 09, 2013 10:42:41 AM
I just received a very cool box from Glamis. She went with my bees theme. My pictures are pretty crappy, but maybe she has better ones.

The overall view

Close-up of the front.

And the very cool contents. My favorite is probably the Totoro pin (which I wore to work today) and the mini Tardis and red rose. Such tiny details!

Thanks soo much Glamis!

PS- I would totally be up for another round, I have a ton of ideas to make mine spiffier.

Yay! I'm glad you liked your serial killer box. It was pretty fun to research the different ones. I absolutely looooove my Donna Noble box. I also love that you took the theme of the Agatha Christie episode with the wasps. Here's the crappy photos I was able to take. If you have better ones feel free to add them.

(It was hard to get a good picture without a glare because she's soo shiny)

8  Re: October 2012 OPS D&G in The Swap Gallery by noushi on: November 08, 2012 04:48:19 PM
I just received the best swap package ever. I had a serious migraine before I checked the mail, and once I got my package I seriously jumped for joy. I received a wonderful flower pincushion for my sewing machine, a little bit of candy that almost got stolen, and.... BENITO. He is the cutest thing in the entire world and I couldn't be happier to have him!

The cute packaging that is also my wonderful first pincushion

And a group shot with Benito. As you can see Goddessgarb also included some beautiful glass pins to sit in Benito's saddle bags. I've already sent pictures to my sister who is very jealous of Benito.

Thank you soooo much Goddessgarb for a wonderful package.

9  It's a PYRO in Halloween Costumes by noushi on: October 30, 2012 09:23:55 AM
So for Halloween this year my fiance and I decided to throw a video game themed party. Everyone dressed up as their favorite video game character, and it was a ton of fun. My fiance decided he wanted to be a Pyro from Team Fortress 2. I dyed the jumpsuit, sewed the bandolier, and made a emblem patch; and he fabricated the gun, the grenades, and the tank for the back, he also added the yellow parts to the gloves. The mask was the only thing store bought, but I did have to extend the straps due to my fiance's large head... Regrettably we only got a few good photos with it on, and you can't see the tank on the back or the emblem patch I made. So I have a separate shot of the emblem before it was fused on.

And here's the before picture:

10  Disappearing Scraps Quilt in Quilting: Completed Projects by noushi on: October 19, 2012 11:56:05 AM
So I've officially finished my first quilt! WHOOHOO
It's a small quilt for my dog. Since it's starting to get cold around here, I thought he might like a blanket to snuggle up with when the house gets cold (we don't really turn our heat on). Usually we just get him a piece of fleece, but I felt like doing something a bit more special. I used the Disappearing Scraps Quilt pattern from Rubyru on Etsy. It's a great pattern with really clear instructions. The fabric was just a few off white fat quarters I had mixed with a ton of Batik fabric charm squares. The pictures are kind of crappy I tried to take some outside, but it was really windy and a bit too sunny, and then the ones inside were only slightly better.

Here's Jay with his quilt. (He refuses to look at the camera)

And here's the quilt all laid out. I cut the pattern down to about 24" square, since it's just for a dog not a child.

And here's the photo of my beautiful binding and machine quilting.

Here's the link to the pattern if you'd like to try it out yourself.
