1  CLOTHING / Shoes: Discussion and Questions / cracked the sole on brown granny boots, is there anyway to seal/fix it? on: October 06, 2008 09:52:17 PM
ok, my mom just gave me a tottaly awsome old pair of brown granny boots, i go to put them on, take ONE step and CRACK, split one of the soles. so summer wear is still fine, and i dont plan on wearing them in winter, but is there a way to seal the crack, enough so that if it rains or i somehow mannage to step in water that my foot could be less wet then leaving it the way it is?

Please help!
2  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Discussion and Questions / Opinions needed! turning single papers into sigatures? on: August 19, 2008 12:05:36 AM
ok ok, so this is my first time on this board, i got really inspired by alot of the posts i saw here and just had to try it for myself!!

Unfortunately, i like to do things the really hard way.

So i am making a book to put my clothing designs and old stencil prelims and things in for safe keeping away from my normal sketch book.
I have a really cool record holder thing, a nice sturdy book like one, not just an envelope, but all the pages i want to put in it wont fold over to make a nice signature...

And i know there has got to be ways to do a copic stitched book without going out and buying copious amounts of giant paper....i mean, i am a craftster after all!

so what would you do? i was thinking of taking the signatures and sewing them together on my machine, it wouldn't be ans nice and flat when you opened the final book, but it would give it something to run the thread thought for a good copic stitch i think...

The book isn't going to be like a normal sketch book, more like an altered book i keep altering/ a new portfolio, so it doesn't have to hold up to a ton of wear and tear...

Have you had to do something similar before? How do you think you would do it?

Thanks for any and all suggestions, and i cant wait to show everyone my book!
3  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Anyone know of a pattern for either a crow/bird or Espion from pokemon? on: October 23, 2007 05:55:07 PM
Yeah, i know kinda random requests, but i am trying to start on x-mas gifts for some people, and cant find a pattern for either of those. I know birds aren't hard to find, but for some reason i am not doing well, all i have found is round ball like birds, and its not...sophisticated looking enough. The other one, espion, is a Pokemon. I cant for the life of me find a pattern, but there has to be one somewhere, but probably in Japanese on a site my computer does not want to pick up.

The point is...(after much rambling^^)...i fail.

Can anyone help me out a bit? Point me in the right direction?

Thanks!!

^^
4  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Handspun Bag, First full knitting project!!! on: September 03, 2007 09:27:12 PM
Ok, so my mom and aunt just dragged me into spinning and knitting about a month ago, and i finnaly just finished my first project!

Its all handspun by me, and knitted by me too!

Because my spinning was really uneven, it got really thin at the top so i added a liner so it wouldnt strech and possibly break:

they are little robots!!

lol...my boyfriend thought it was a hat till i added the handle:

Sooo? how does it look for a first time?

My next project is an actual hat for my boyfriend, he liked the way the bag felt and fit on his head XD.

^^

6  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / My first post!!! Sushi Hoodie! And purses! on: August 30, 2007 04:01:31 PM
Ok so, i have been on crafster for quite a while now, but never really got around to creating anything i found topic worthy. Till now.

I found the sushi fabric in a funny little antique show in a TINY little town while i was on vacation (1$ for the 2 yards!), and decided it would be perfect for a hoodie!

The sleeves, zipper, and pockets i pulled off another really old hoodie i had, so it was kinda hard to put the knit sleeves with the cotton of the sushi fabric, it stretched and was a pain, but i got it! ^^

Me modeling the hoodie:

Hood up:

After i did the hoodie i had two tiny extra rectangles of fabric so i made these:

They were really quick to make and are lined with denim, havent put and zippers or buttons on the top to close them yet though.

I would LOVE to hear feedback!! Thanks!
