21  mary rag doll in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by alisonillustration on: August 02, 2008 09:28:29 AM
This is Mary. She's about 14 inches tall and mad out of cotton and muslin scraps. I really need to start making proper clothing for my dolls. xD

I hand embroidered and appliqud her face.

Her pattern is a revised pattern of my first doll Josephine (the one with the blue hair). I added more seam allowance and redrew the shapes of the arms and legs. Cheesy

Thanks for looking!

22  Josephine Rag Doll in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by alisonillustration on: July 30, 2008 11:44:10 AM
This is Josephine. Cheesy She's my first doll/project on my new sewing machine! She really helped me get the hang of the machine, I've been hand sewing since forever. Tongue

She's made with cotton scrap fabric and stuffed with poly-fill and love. I made he pattern up myself, but have found that I need to make it a bit larger. Hehe. She has two left feet.

Hand embroidered/appliqued face with safety eyes. lol

I'm done with my first poppet! Cheesy

She has her own page here: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=258498.0

I must say that I will most likely not make a poppet again, but it was a great learning experience (i.e. I didn't know I liked making large dolls), and I'm starting to draft my own doll patterns. Cheesy

25  pseudo-wa lolita bunny poppet (pic heavy) in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by alisonillustration on: July 21, 2008 11:29:43 AM
Ah! I've been sucked in to poppets! My friend saw them and wanted one. Cheesy She wanted it to have rabbit ears instead of the cat like ones and it to be sort of gothic lolita.

Here she is bald and nekid.

I elongated the torso a bit and used outer button joints. (never again! lol)

She's about 16 inches from head to toe. Here she is in her undies. She also has a petticoat. Cheesy

I was aiming for a Wa-Lolita type of look. However I think I made her kimono top a wee bit small. I based it off actual kimono patterns from the internet.

I hand sewed her entirely (I really need to get a sewing machine) and embroidered/appliqued her face and cheeks as I personally find the safety eyes a wee bit creepy. Tongue Her nose has a bit of felt in it to give it shape.

Thanks for looking!

I've been sucked in! My friend saw the poppets and wanted my to make her one. Hehe. I altered the pattern a bit, so that the torso was a bit more in proportion. Wink

Here she is all nekid and bald. xD I need to redo her legs.
